Once upon a time, there was a king

from East Java who was known for his magical powers and had the title Prabu Aji Pramosa.

The king was stubborn and refused to submit to anyone.

Even to kings from other kingdoms, he would not budge.

In his territory lived a powerful sage, named Resi Kano.

The sage was famous for his supernatural powers and intelligence

and had noble character so that many people liked him.

Knowing this, Prabu Aji Pramosa felt hurt because someone was rivaling his supernatural powers.

He considered the Sage as his enemy.

The King was worried that the Resi would threaten his power.

The King's heart and mind were never calm, he was always haunted by the shadow of

his power collapsing and being destroyed in the hands of the Resi.

Prabu Aji Pramosa thought about how to eliminate the Resi.

Until one day a meeting was held at the palace under the pretext of saving the kingdom.

“Dear officials and advisors.

Thank you all for attending this meeting.

Today I will convey something important. Do

you know that our country is currently in danger?”

Everyone present was shocked and confused to hear the words of the King,

“Forgive me, King. With all due respect!

What do you mean by your words? I don’t really understand!”

"I understand if you're confused.

With all his might the disciple faced the King and his entourage.

After defeating Resi Kano's disciple, the King continued his search.

The Rishi left the Kingdom of Kediri with feelings of sadness,

hatred and revenge towards Aji Pramosa.

He changed his form into various animals so as not to leave a trace.

Resi Kano headed towards the south coast of Java Island.

Passing through bushes,

up and down mountains and through the wilderness without getting tired.

Finally Resi Kano arrived near Cilacap.

The Resi chose a place that was quiet and difficult for humans to reach .

He then meditated in that place.

Praying for God's justice for the fate he experienced.

During the search, the

King's group got lost several times.

However, thanks to the persistence of the King.

He managed to find the hermitage of the Resi.

The King hid, watching from a distance with his guards.

“Look, that Resi is meditating there.

Surround him! Don’t let him escape again.

I will finish him off from behind!”

The officers nodded their heads in understanding, and

Prabu Aji Pramosa slowly approached Resi Kano.

When the King was near the Resi,

Prabu Aji immediately stabbed Resi Kano from behind.

But something extraordinary happened, suddenly the body of the Resi disappeared.

Not long after, a thunderous sound and a strong wind were heard

which made the hairs on the back of Prabu Aji Pramosa and his courtiers stand on end.

However, Prabu Aji Pramosa was able to overcome this situation thanks to the spells and supernatural powers he possessed.

After things calm down.

Suddenly a giant dragon appeared, hissing as if it was about to swallow the King.

The dragon's ferocity caused the ocean waves to become even bigger.

Rolling like a storm.

High waves hit the beach.

This causes the inhabitants of the sea in the form of turtles to appear and become stranded around Cilacap Bay.

Therefore, the bay is now known as Turtle Bay.

Prabu Aji Pramosa was surprised to see the incident.

The dragon seemed to dislike the presence of the King.

The Dragon continued to rage, the Prabu's entourage scattered to save themselves.

Seeing that the situation was chaotic, the King took out his bow and arrow, and

with full force he released it.

The arrow hit the Giant Dragon's stomach right away.

As a result of being hit by this powerful attack, the dragon immediately died

and was swept away by the waves of the southern sea.

A moment later, a beautiful princess appeared from the east

or rather from across the island.

The princess called the King.

“Prabu Aji Pramosa! Know that I am Dewi Wasowati.

I am in this place because I was cursed by the Almighty.

Thanks to your services, I have returned to human form.

As a return for my kindness, I offer you the Wijayakusuma flower graft.

This object cannot be found in the ordinary world.

Whoever possesses this graft will bring down powerful kings in the land of Java.

Please accept my offering!”

Hearing the princess's words, Prabu Aji Pramosa's heart was happy.

His heart was pounding with joy.

With his magical powers, the King used all his abilities

and strength to sail the ocean.

He wanted to immediately meet Dewi Wasowati to receive the Wijayakuma flower graft.

Upon arriving at Dewi's place, the King faced Dewi Wasowati.

“Rise, O king. It is

not right for the one who saved me to kneel before me!”

“Yes, Dewi, thank you. It is

truly an honor for me to meet you, Dewi. “

“Oh, the King. You have been a witness,

know that these mountains and coral reefs are separated from the island of Java. I

will name this coral Nusa, which means Island.

Because on this island I handed over the Wijayakusuma flower, I

added the name Kembangan.

One day I hope this island will be called by the name Nusa Kembangan.

After the graft of the Wijayakusuma Flower was handed over to the King,

Dewi Wasowati immediately disappeared.

King Aji Pramosa was happy and satisfied imagining that

he and his descendants would become rulers on the island of Java forever.

The King immediately jumped onto the coral reef that was spread out,

and paddled as hard as he could to return to his kingdom.

During the journey, the King was nervous and careless,

without his knowledge, the graft of the Wijayakusuma Flower that he was carrying fell

and was swept away by the waves.

The King only realized it when he arrived at the beach.

He was shocked and depressed because he could not carry the graft of the Wijayakusuma.

Finally, empty-handed, the King returned to Kediri. As

time went by, news spread that a strange tree had grown on the coral reef of Nusa Kembangan Island.

King Aji Pramosa was curious to hear the news.

The King wanted to know the truth. At

that time, the King and his guards went to Nusa Kembangan.

Upon arriving there, the King was surprised, the magical tree that was told was none other

than the Wijayakusuma Flower that had been received from Dewi Wasowati. The

leaves of the tree looked glistening in the sunlight and smooth like velvet, the

flowers of the Wijayakusuma Flower looked sparkling.

King Aji Pramosa was stunned to see it, he felt so sorry because he remembered his dream had been dashed.

But what can be said, rice has become porridge.

The King realized that all of this had been destined by the Almighty.

Finally, King Aji Pramosa returned to his palace. The

island of Nusa Kembangan is now called Nusakambangan.
