Chrome Extension
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What the YouTLDR Chrome extension collects
When you click “Fetch Transcript” on a YouTube video, the extension sends the video ID, your selected language, and your existing you-tldr.com session cookie to our backend. When you generate a summary, timeline, chat reply, or translation, we additionally send the fetched transcript text and (for chat) the question you typed.
The extension does not collect: browsing history, page contents from sites other than YouTube, telemetry about how you use the extension, the contents of any cookie, or data from videos you do not explicitly fetch. The extension never makes a network call without an explicit user click.

Per the Gemini API terms, content sent through the paid Gemini API is not used to train Google’s models. We do not share extension data with any other third parties beyond Supabase (authentication), Stripe (subscription billing on the website only), and Google Gemini.
