Pratique inglês comigo: fazendo café e falando inglês da vida real (sem filtros) vlog 100% em inglês
We're about to make coffee.
So, let's switch. Guys, first of all, I
got to give you a little bit of a
background because my husband and I
really like coffee, mainly pour-over.
So, today that's what we're going to be
doing. But before we get started, before
we start with our recipe of the day, I
want to show you a couple of things. At
this point, you might know or not, but
my husband and I, we don't drink
alcohol. So, what do we drink? A lot of
coffee and matcha. So, if you want to
know how I make matcha, please let me
know in the comments. But now I would
like to show you a couple of, you know,
tools that we have to make coffee.
This is quite an interesting angle,
isn't it? So, this is the place where we
store all of our coffee. This was one of
the first things we bought when we moved
here to LA, but nowadays we don't use it
simply because it's not the best way of
storing coffee. We got some beans. We
got some different methods right here. I
don't know if you can see them. Yes, you
can. They're dirty, so
>> [laughter]
>> I'll take advantage of what we're doing
right now and I'll place them in a
dishwasher right after this video. So,
this jar is used for a different method,
which is called Clever. It's a different
style of pour-over coffee because the
coffee doesn't drip. The main idea of
this coffee brewer right here is for the
coffee to be in contact with the water
for a long period of time and not only
washing the coffee, you know? So, that's
one of our favorite methods.
We also got two kettles here. This is
our first kettle. Kettle is
the
oopsie. So, this is a goose neck kettle
and it's amazing, but we bought a
different one cuz this one is just like
on and off and whenever the water boils,
it turns off. Now, our new kettle is
electronic, so we can set
the temperature of the water. We've got
some fresh coffee. These are like raw
beans
that haven't been roasted yet, so
they're green.
Interesting, right? I know. Bruno wanted
to roast coffee at home a while ago. It
was a disaster. It didn't work, so the
beans are here.
Next, we have the matcha set guide,
which I only used once.
Some amazing
memories from Japan of the coffee shop
we went to, one of our favorites in
Osaka.
We also have some coffee filters,
paper filters.
By the way, this is V60, which is the
method we're going to be
doing today.
This is funny. This is a finished
coffee. I believe that Bruno brought
from one of his trips, but the coffee is
terrible. So,
this is just, you know,
to occupy some space.
Why not? We're not going to have this
coffee anytime soon. This is
going to be washed. Now, let's talk
about the fun part of it. Let's talk
about the beans! Oh, I want to talk
about the Oh my gosh.
I also want to talk about this
in a bit.
So, this is the coffee selection that we
have at the moment. And the majority of
the coffee beans we have
are actually Brazilian coffee. So, this
is Brazilian, Brazilian, Brazilian,
Brazilian,
Brazilian,
definitely not Brazilian, Brazilian, and
Brazilian.
Only
these
So, only these six
are not Brazilian coffee. This one is
from Colombia. This one is
Costa Rica.
This was a gift from a a friend of ours.
She's Japanese, but she lives in
Germany.
So, she bought this coffee that it's
actually from Guatemala and Brazil as
well. It's a blend.
Here is the munch. This is the coffee I
bought for Bruno.
To celebrate our anniversary. We also
tried this one, but it's not as good as
we were expecting. And this coffee is
quite interesting because the coffee
beans are stored in a barrel, a whiskey
barrel. So, it has a very unique and
particular
taste.
Not my favorite. Actually, I don't like
to to drink it. Bruno likes it. So, this
is an Ethiopian coffee, but this is not
the best Ethiopian coffee we've tried.
Bruno loves floral coffees.
I like a little bit of everything, but
recently I would say that my taste has
leaned towards a more fermented
kind of situation. So, for for example,
this Colombian coffee
of the international coffees we have is
my favorite one. Talking about Brazilian
coffee, our favorite coffee shops in
Brazil are Jotta Cafe. They're in São
Paulo
in the west zone of the city, and it's
simply amazing. We We have four
different coffees.
We're also big fans of OOP, a coffee
place from Belo Horizonte. So, there you
go, Bag and the Area. And also Ernesto,
that is located in Brasilia.
But that's not everything. We also got
Lucca here, and that this brand was the
first one to work with specialty coffee
in Brazil. And I forgot to mention that
actually everything I've shown you guys
is specialty coffee. And once again,
this was one of the best ones we've
we've tried this year.
So, now, what do we choose? What do we
choose?
Think I'm going to do
I think I'm going to go with Ernesto
today. This is the coffee we're going to
be brewing. Are you guys ready?
Are you guys ready? Okay, good.
The paper filter.
But before we brew the coffee, I got to
share something with you. You know what
this is? Which is a wheel of the tastes
that we can get from coffee. And I love
it. It's pretty, it's beautiful, and
it's kind of fun to sip the coffee and
try to guess where the taste is. I love
it.
There you go. Just so you guys can see
it
up close.
Amazing, isn't it? All right, but before
we get started, I would like to show you
guys something that I made that I simply
love it very much. One day I heard that
people who love wine usually have like a
notebook with their favorite wines with
some descriptions of the wine, even with
the label of it if they are able to
remove it. And for example, if the wine
was a gift, someone gifted you the wine,
you would also write it down. So I
thought, why not doing the same with
coffee? So I bought a small notebook.
Very beautiful.
And I decided that I would glue here all
of our favorite coffees, all of them. So
So I cut the label, I glue them here. If
there is any funny story related to the
coffee, I'm going to write it down. Oh
my gosh.
Apparently, the glue is not good.
But I'm going to write things down. And
it's a hobby that I have. Let me show
you some details.
Like how beautiful it is.
We're going to have this coffee today,
by the way.
>> [laughter]
>> Our friends from Japan.
This is also a coffee shop from Japan,
but the beans are from China. Amazing
coffee. This is just water.
Are you guys ready? I hope you are. So
what are we going to need? We're using
this brewer, which is the V60, and we're
going to place it right here. We're
going to scald the paper filter just to
make sure that we're not adding anything
else into our coffee. Let's clean the
filter, basically.
And I like to do it with hot water.
The water is warm, but that's okay.
Let's leave it there. And while the
water drips, we're going to weigh our
coffee beans. And because today I'm only
making coffee for myself, I'm not making
for Bruno and I, which is a shame.
Bruno's traveling at the moment. Let's
do 15 g.
This is not a dark roast, it's actually
pretty light.
Can you see that?
My coffee grinder is kind of hidden.
It's right there. So, let's change the
angle again.
It's right here.
So,
we usually don't change how fine the
grinding is, so let's just do
however we usually do it.
I love coffee.
Now that our coffee is ready to be
brewed,
we just need to
heat the water. We're going to do 250 mg
of water. And I'm not boiling the water.
It's going to heat up to 93°.
Otherwise, depending on the type of
coffee you have, you burn your coffee
again. It's almost like roasting your
coffee again. And if you are into
specialty coffee and you're watching
this video thinking that I'm doing
something wrong,
that's okay. This is how I make coffee.
Guys, can you believe that my cousin
Renata is getting married today?
Yeah. I'm so happy for her.
I wish I could be there.
It's a shame. The water is heating up
and we're drinking water.
By the way, let me show you other
brewing methods. So, this is the French
press,
right?
You grind your coffee, put it there,
then you put the water in it, you close
it, let it sit for 2 minutes and then
you press it. And we also have the mocha
machine, one of my favorites. Now that
everything is ready, let's
pour the coffee
into the filter.
And now
I like to wait how much water I'm adding
just in case. I also have a nice option
on my electric kettle, which is to hold
the temperature. So, let's pour 50 mg
first in circular motion. I should show
you this, right?
Let's get closer. I bet you're not
expecting that we would get so
professional. [laughter]
Now let's do 100 mg.
And we're almost done.
And the last round
up into 215.
There you go. Coffee's ready.
Now the only thing I got to do is to get
a cup, my favorite cup, and fill it with
hot water.
We usually do this so the coffee can
maintain its temperature for longer.
And if you think that for the coffee to
be good, it has to be black, black,
black
I don't know how to talk to you about
that, but that's not true.
Unfortunately, the coffee that we were
raised drinking is not pure coffee.
That's the reason why we buy coffee
beans and not ground coffee.
Delightful coffee. And I don't know if
you guys noticed in my other videos, but
these three frames up there, they're
actually coffee bags.
Why not? We love coffee. I would also
would like to thank the person who said
that I should listen to free copyright
music. You're right, and that's what I'm
doing today. So, thank you so much for
that. Now, I don't have to record these
videos in English
by myself. I can listen to something.
Woohoo!
Today is the kind of Saturday that I
don't feel like being at home. I just
want to go outside and do something, but
I did this in the morning. So, I got to
work now. So guys, thank you so much for
being here with me, for making coffee
with me. I hope you have enjoyed the
process. I hope you have learned new
words, and I hope to see you in the next
one.
