學歷方面有一些要求,或是工作經驗方面有什麼要求嗎? 想要進入軟體工程真的沒有一定要 do computer science 或是資工之類的。 對,然後我覺得學歷只是幫助你在你進入職場的前期 比較容易拿到面試,因為它等於就是一個小徽章嘛,對。 可是其實當你進入職場一陣子之後, 那個學歷真的就變得不太重要, 反而是你後面的工作經驗會更重要。

如果論工作經驗的話,要能夠在裡面很快速的適應, 就是你必須要有很獨立的學習跟工作能力。 那我覺得這些東西是, 如果你在之前的工作實習經驗中已經先有了, 那你之後要再重新pick up會比較快, 因為會有一種砍掉重點的感覺。 可是如果你從來,如果沒有實習也沒有工作過, 你就進去Google的話, 我覺得相對來說會吃力很多。

你當時是自己申請的嗎? 還是靠別人幫你內推申請進去的? 我大學的時候,那時候有面試Google的實習, 軟體工程師實習,對。

那個時候的話 在美國還是 在美國 在美國 對 在美國那時候是去career fair 其實那時候我覺得還蠻神奇的 因為我那時候沒有實習經驗 我很認真的做了一個resume 然後我是用google search的那個樣子 做了一個creative的resume 然後就交給recruiter

然後他就幫我sign up interview 對 那是我第一次跟Google面試 回台灣之後算是內推了 就是朋友的朋友啊 然後幫我refer 然後第一年是這樣拿到面試的 那可是那次其實我也沒有上 就一直到第二次 就是去年的時候 那那次會有面試 比較算是recruiter來reach out的

So after a while, if your interview was not bad, but some places might be under-reported, they will come back next year. So it's a three-way street. Does Google Taiwan require English? Yes, it does. Basically, you must know English. You must know how to write. After all, all of our documents are written in English. And because you work with foreigners, you must know English.

以面試難度來看的話,就我所聽到就是美國之外的地方, 像比如說日本、新加坡、或是台灣、香港、Google的辦公室, 他們其實面試的要求會稍微高一點,或是難度會增加一點。 你覺得這是對的說法嗎?還是其實是都一樣的? 你是說亞洲vs北美嗎? 這種。

Okay, I think based on my personal experience,

I don't think this can be applied to all of your Google jobs. And Google actually tries to make sure that no matter where you are, what position you are in, your process and difficulty should be equivalent. They actually try hard to do this. But I personally think that interviewing for Google in Taiwan is more difficult. Although I have tried to work in Taiwan before.

面試你該知道的東西都告訴你 然後幫你節省很多時間 然後上面的題目其實我覺得幫助也很大 因為雖然LECO這麼多 但其實它就是變話題而已 它是同一些經典的題型然後變化 那些Credit and Code Interview 它就是把經典的題型都告訴你 你真的需要補強的話 你就再去LECO上面找相關的題目去做 覺得這是比較有效率的準備方法

I think it was quite helpful. How long did you prepare? From the moment I started preparing for the first interview, I think it was about three weeks.

Because I spent a long time preparing for it. At least half a year. But I think my starting point is different. I don't know about your preparation process. Because I've interviewed Google. Plus other experiences. I already know what I lack. What I lack is still impressive. So I think it's not that hard for me to pick up again.

其實有時候你也不知道你是不是真的準備好了,說不定其實你早就已經準備好了。 一直覺得自己還沒有準備好,但是其實你去面試才知道,對不對? 因為我確實很多面試經驗是我明明面的超爛,但是我拿到offer。 或是我明明就面的超好,但是他就是不給我offer。 所以我就了解到說,我到底面試能不能得到這份工作。 很多時候不是我準備就可以去改變的。

I try to prepare myself well and leave the rest to God. This is my mentality. So I didn't think about taking too long to prepare. Because I think the longer I take, the more I work.

monthly salary is about 42,000 and annual salary is about 500,000 and level 3 is when you just graduated and worked for a couple of years and this level in Google Taiwan is about 1.5 million to 2 million Taiwan dollars total package I'm talking about your base plus your stock and bonus and level 4 is a little bit senior but not at the senior level it's about 240 to 280 a year level 5 is considered a senior engineer in Google about 350 to 480

Taiwan Google's concept is like 1/3 of the US Google's.

因為其實很多人向往去美國工作,或是他們想去西部工作,但是因為簽證的問題,或是他們可能在美國沒有學歷,或是沒有身份,那可能會比較難在那邊找到工作,一開始啦。 那就我所知的很多,他們先在他們local的那個Google辦公室,譬如說在澳洲啊,或在日本,做了一兩年之後,然後再做一個internal transfer到美國那邊。 你覺得這個是可行的嗎?就你所知。 完全可行,嗯。

I know that many people want to do this. Mainly because in Taiwan, there are not many foreign tech companies. There are also fewer engineers. Google is a foreign company and has an engineer position in Taiwan. If many people want to go to the United States to develop their software engineering career, they will think about going to the United States after Google in Taiwan. The company has more resources. They are easier to sponsor these visas.

Can you give some advice to those who just graduated from college? If they want to go to Google or work in a foreign company. I think if you can't get into the company you want to go to, don't be too frustrated or too naive. Getting into this big company has its advantages. It's really great. Many people are really suitable for going to this big company. The resume is also more beautiful.

But if you don't go to these big companies, it doesn't mean you're not a good software engineer. I think I've seen a lot of people who are very powerful and very capable. They're not in big companies. They're in some small and medium-sized enterprises or places that make them more free to play. And then I went to a lot of small companies. In fact, you can really learn a lot in a short time.

If your career doesn't go the way you want it to, you don't have to be discouraged. You will find new opportunities in the process. And you might like it. This is my advice for college students who are just starting to find a job. I think it makes sense. I was in a small company when I just graduated. I learned a lot. I'm still in a small company now.

But I think if I have a chance in the future, I will also want to go to Google or a company of this size to see how it is. But I think I'm not young now, but I think I'm still young. Maybe I just want to say that it's pretty good to go to these small companies now. The next question you have to answer honestly. You can't lie in front of this person. If you lie, you have to pull your belly for a month.

I heard that Google employees are quite lazy. There are a lot of them. There are quite a lot in the US. I don't know how it is in Taiwan.

How much time do you usually work on a daily basis? Really effective. Not really effective work, but the time you work in front of the TV. Excluding the time you eat, play ping pong, or play cards. How many hours do you work on a daily basis? It's different every day. It depends on the mood. On average? On average, I think 6 hours. Is it that high? Yes. In Taiwan, I think 6 hours. In the US, I don't think so.

Just 3 hours, 2 hours. I was just looking at my colleagues. I think the efficiency and the way people work is quite easy to be affected by their colleagues. I have to say that in Asia, especially in Taiwan, everyone is quite serious. Are they more hardworking? Yes, I think it's because of the pressure from colleagues. Actually Google is very flexible. Compared to many companies in Taiwan, if you can get off work at 6:00 or 7:00 today, you have already got off work early.

Taiwan is like this. But in the United States, it's actually over by 6:00 or 7:00. So I think the standard is not the same. So everyone is not the same when they say that they are lazy. I think 6 hours is a very model employee's time. I think it's compared to you. It's also an art with me. You have to be lazy and make others think you are very serious. That is very difficult.
