Hey, hey, hey.

0:27

Heat.

0:44

Heat.

1:03

Heat. Heat.

1:56

Hey,

2:00

hey, hey.

2:03

Heat. Heat.

5:23

Well, good morning church. If you would

5:25

stand to your feet, we're going to

5:26

worship the Lord this morning. Everybody

5:28

had a good week so far? Anybody had a

5:30

good week? Man, the weather was warm.

5:32

Pastor was happy, right? He was happy.

5:34

But it's going to freeze again in a

5:36

couple days. I don't know what you're

5:37

praying over there, pastor, but he's

5:39

like every seven days just give us some

5:41

weird weather. He wants it to happen.

5:43

So, he's doing he's in touch with the

5:45

Lord. So, man, I'm happy to be here

5:47

today and I'm happy that we're here to

5:48

worship the Lord. Let's go to the Lord

5:49

in prayer and then we're going to jump

5:50

right in to worship and just ask the

5:52

Lord to be with us. So, Father, we thank

5:53

you, Lord, for this day. God, I thank

5:55

you, Lord, for your presence, Lord. I

5:57

thank you for your goodness in my life,

5:58

God. And I pray that this morning, God,

6:00

we would recognize, Lord, that you're

6:01

here in this m place, God. You're here

6:03

in our midst, Lord. God. And we're

6:05

thankful, Lord. We're thankful for you

6:07

to be here today, God, because you, God,

6:10

bring the peace, the joy, the hope that

6:11

we have need of in this house today,

6:13

Lord. And we just give it to you as we

6:15

worship this morning, Lord. It's in your

6:17

name we pray. Amen. Come on, let's

6:19

worship today.

6:33

We'll sing this out today. I'm shaking

6:35

off the heaviness.

6:37

I'm shaking off the heaviness.

6:40

Oh, I'm dancing out of my regrets.

6:44

I'm throwing caution to the wind.

6:48

And I am not ashamed to praise like

6:51

this. Some would say it's foolishness.

6:56

But I say it's worth the rest.

6:59

I can't forget what Jesus did.

7:03

Oh, I'm not ashamed to praise like this.

7:08

Where are those chains that once held

7:11

me? I'm free. I'm free. I'm free. I'm

7:14

free. My sin is gone. How can it be? I'm

7:19

free. I'm free. I'm free. I'm free.

7:23

Look at what the Lord has done. I'll

7:26

never go back to the way I was. I'll

7:30

sing. I'll dance. Cuz I believe I'm

7:34

free. I'm free. Thank God I'm free.

7:43

I found a friend. I found a friend that

7:45

never quit.

7:48

No other loves as good as this.

7:52

Cuz I don't care what he was saying.

7:55

I'll never be ashamed to praise like

7:58

this. Where are those chains that held

8:03

me? I'm free. I'm free. I'm free. I'm

8:06

free. My sin is gone. How can it be? I'm

8:11

free. I'm free. I'm free. I'm free. Look

8:15

at what the Lord has done. I'm never

8:18

going back to the way I was. I'll sing.

8:23

I'll dance cuz I feel it. I'm free. I'm

8:27

free. I'm God. I'm free. You took your

8:31

cross and you broke your body.

8:34

You shed your blood. Now the sinner

8:36

can't see. My debt is paid and my record

8:40

is clean. I couldn't do it, so you did

8:43

it for me. You took your cross and you

8:47

broke your body. You shed your blood,

8:50

now the sinner can't see. My sin is paid

8:54

and my record is clean. I couldn't do

8:57

it, so you did it for me. You took your

9:01

cross and you broke your body. You shed

9:04

your blood, now the sinner can't see. My

9:07

debt is paid and my record is clean. You

9:11

couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

9:14

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

9:18

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

9:22

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

9:28

Where are those chains that once held

9:31

me? I'm free. I'm free. I'm free. I'm

9:35

free. My sin is gone. How can it be? I'm

9:40

free. I'm free. I've got I'm free.

9:44

Look at what the Lord has done. I'm

9:46

never going back to the way I was. I'll

9:51

sing. I miss cuz I feel it. I'm free.

9:55

I'm free. Thank God I'm free. You took

9:59

your cross and you broke your body. You

10:02

shed your blood. Now the sinner can't

10:05

see. My debt is paid and my record is

10:08

clean. I couldn't do it, so you did it

10:12

for me.

10:13

You took your cross and you broke your

10:15

body. My s is dead now. My sin is set

10:19

free. My debt is paid and my record is

10:23

clean. I couldn't do it so you did it

10:26

for me. Look at what the Lord has done.

10:30

I'm never going back to the way I was.

10:34

I'll sing. I'll dance cuz I feel I'm

10:38

free. I'm free. Thank God I'm free.

10:42

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

10:46

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

10:49

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

10:53

I couldn't do it, so you did it for me.

11:01

Come on, lift up a shout of praise

11:03

today. We thank you, Lord, for what you

11:06

did, God, that we could not do. God, we

11:09

give you praise in this house today.

11:12

Amen. Amen. You may be seated for just a

11:15

moment. We've got a quick speed the

11:16

light video for you this morning.

11:20

Partial, halfway, mediocre. These words

11:24

do not describe your generation.

11:27

Unconventional,

11:28

sacrificial, resilient, passionate,

11:31

faithful. This is who he created you to

11:34

be. Believing you can. You can provide

11:38

vehicles for our missionaries. You can

11:41

propel the gospel through media and

11:43

social networking. You can influence

11:46

culture and impact the globe. But I

11:49

believe this is just the beginning. You

11:52

have just begun to dream about

11:55

conquering the world water crisis

11:57

through conventional means. You have

11:59

just begun to speak up for those who are

12:02

in poverty and shout out for those who

12:04

have been trafficked. You have just

12:06

begun to be launched to act on behalf of

12:09

the lost on your campus, community,

12:12

nation, and globe. Through speed the

12:15

light, your generation has decided to be

12:18

allin. All in to fight for the

12:20

abandoned. All in to quench the thirst

12:23

of those who have been ignored. All in

12:25

to restore the broken. All in to provide

12:29

transportation. All in to equip with

12:31

communication. all in to demonstrate

12:34

compassion to all people. I am calling

12:38

on your generation to be allin this year

12:41

for allowing God to use you to your

12:43

fullest potential to spread his gospel

12:46

until all know the truth of his word and

12:49

the love of Jesus. Rise up and be allin

12:54

to speed the light to the world.

12:58

>> Amen. Amen. Man, I tell you what, speed

13:01

the light excites me and I know that

13:03

missions excites this church. And so, we

13:05

just wanted to take a moment in this

13:07

missions month to highlight speed the

13:09

light. You know, we've got a group of

13:10

young people here that are passionate

13:13

about raising money for missions. And

13:15

we've got a district, we've got a state,

13:17

we've got a nation, we got a church that

13:19

is dedicated to raising money for

13:20

missions as a whole. But they have

13:22

imparted it upon young people to be a

13:25

major part of that. And I love that

13:27

about the Assemblies of God. is we have

13:28

BGMC, we have speed the light, we have

13:30

men's ministries, we have women's

13:31

ministries that raise monies for

13:33

specific things and it's not just it's

13:35

all a big pot going to the same thing,

13:38

but they've said, you know what, we want

13:39

to set apart this group because we trust

13:41

that they're able to do it on their own

13:44

to raise money to go be effective to

13:46

carry the gospel. So, I want to read a

13:47

statement from AYM, which is Alabama

13:50

youth ministries. It says, "Today, Speed

13:51

to Light is one of the most effective

13:53

student initiated missions ministries in

13:55

the world. Assembles of God students

13:57

have accepted a great responsibility to

13:59

voluntarily, we don't make them.

14:01

Sometimes I know they feel like we make

14:02

them, but we don't make them. Sacrifice

14:05

and raise funds to purchase missionaries

14:07

equipment across the United States and

14:09

in over 150 countries around the world

14:12

since 1944.

14:14

And this is a little bit of an old stat.

14:15

It has not been updated. Speed of light

14:17

has raised close to 200 million. I think

14:18

it's actually closer to 300 million now

14:20

for missionary equipment around the

14:22

globe. That is incredible. The young

14:24

people have taken it upon themselves to

14:26

raise money for missions. You know, our

14:30

church, we set goals every year. And 15

14:32

years ago, almost when we started as

14:33

youth pastors, we had a goal of $1,000.

14:36

That was what we set. And I don't even

14:38

know if we made it, pastor. I think we

14:39

were short of it. It was like 900 bucks.

14:43

I I'm proud to say that this year, it

14:45

wasn't our best year. Um, we've had some

14:48

we've had some better years in the past

14:49

couple years, but this year our young

14:51

people raised $23,752.

14:55

Incredible.

14:58

We were number nine in the state. We're

15:00

number nine in the state per capita,

15:02

which means the amount of youth, amount

15:03

of people we have in our church. We're

15:05

in the top five. We have an incredible

15:08

giving church here that is just awesome.

15:10

And and you know, I I challenge our

15:12

students. One thing we did about a

15:14

decade ago, and that's weird to say that

15:16

I can live in decades now, but about a

15:19

decade ago, we challenged our students

15:21

to be the one to raise missions. We we

15:23

said, you know what, we can do big

15:24

fundraisers. We can do our cook off.

15:26

We'll still do that. We can do, you

15:27

know, pork sales. We used to do those,

15:29

but we really want to put it upon these

15:31

kids to raise the money. Like, we want

15:33

them to work. We want them to see the

15:35

goal. We want them to see the mission.

15:37

And we thought that we would take a step

15:38

back. We start, you know, we started out

15:40

at $1,000 about 15 years ago. We went up

15:42

to five. I think we may have reached 10.

15:45

But when we started doing that, when we

15:46

started putting it on the kids, we

15:48

started to see the numbers grow. And

15:49

what it took from them was to buy in to

15:52

the bigger goal. To buy into the bigger

15:54

goal. And this past year, I've got some

15:56

statistics. Just from the kids raising,

15:58

they alone raised nearly $5,000 just

16:01

themselves. This is no fundraiser. This

16:03

is nothing else. Yeah. Give it up for

16:05

them.

16:07

And so we we wanted to kind of highlight

16:10

and again we don't do this because we

16:12

want them to be on this screen but I

16:14

want them to see the importance of what

16:16

they give. So we took the top five

16:18

givers in our youth department this year

16:20

and we want to post them right here.

16:21

These are our top five givers. We got

16:24

Austin Reed that gave $116. Y'all can

16:26

clap it up for them. Ryan Rushing $450,

16:28

Alyssa 750. Faith Dunham $850. and Alan

16:31

Quas, who is actually number 11 in the

16:33

state, gave $1,400. $1,400. Incredible.

16:38

Give it up for him.

16:41

So, I guess in part by giving the most

16:43

amount of money, she gets to come up

16:44

here and say a little something. So,

16:45

she's like, I'm not giving the most next

16:47

year if I got to say that. I'm just

16:48

kidding. So, I want you to hear from her

16:50

heart just why she gives the speed of

16:51

light, what she did, and what she's

16:52

going to plan to do this year.

16:55

So basically last year I set the goal to

16:57

race 1500 and I raised 1400. But

17:01

recently at our speed the right speed

17:03

the light rally he gave this analogy. It

17:06

was like how are people going to believe

17:07

if they never heard and how are they

17:09

going to hear if people don't go and how

17:10

are they going to go if we don't send

17:12

people. So if I'm willing if I am able

17:14

to raise what I can to help people go to

17:16

heaven one day. You know I might not

17:18

know who I'm benefiting but I'm going to

17:20

see them in the kingdom one day. And if

17:22

I can do anything, I'm going to do what

17:24

I can to make sure people have the funds

17:26

to go and so they can hear Jesus and

17:27

believe for themselves.

17:33

>> Amen. Ma'am, all right, I'm done. I'm

17:36

done. That was it. No, I want to I want

17:39

to put in a plug this year because we

17:40

have challenged the students. We got a

17:42

lofty goal. I think it was $40,000 is

17:44

what we set for this year. Cade wanted

17:47

$890,000

17:48

and I told him, "Hey, if we get there,

17:50

we'll do it. we'll do it. But I believe

17:53

that these young people, we've set some

17:55

individual goals and we've we've

17:56

challenged them. We did a little sheet

17:57

that basically it fills out their

17:59

interests and we asked them what it is

18:01

that they like to do. What what is it

18:03

that interests you? When people see you,

18:05

what it what is it that they would say

18:06

you're good at and how could you turn

18:08

that into a fundraiser? And so we gave

18:11

them individual sheets to write down

18:13

their giving. And if we go on that

18:15

number, we've got well above $5,000 this

18:18

year for the individual goals that

18:20

they're going to be challenged to. And I

18:21

told them, you know, we we nearly had

18:23

three that were going to be going to the

18:24

banquet, which if you don't know this,

18:26

if you raise $1,000 in the state, we get

18:28

to go to district council and they get

18:29

to honor the students to raise $1,000

18:31

and they feed them. There's a really

18:33

emphasis highlight. And so I told him,

18:35

man, I want to I want to take 10 of you

18:36

next year. I want to take I want to

18:38

raise $10,000 individually beyond what

18:40

it is that we do outside of that

18:42

fundraisers and giving and all of those

18:44

things. I want to raise $10,000

18:45

individually so that we can take you we

18:47

got to take the band to district council

18:49

which I think it may be in Mobile next

18:50

year. That'd be a lot easier, too. So, I

18:52

want to I want to in I want to challenge

18:54

you as a church. You know, we we've

18:56

started the cafe back there and you may

18:57

not know this, but the cafe is 100%

19:00

proceeds go to Speed the Light. And this

19:02

is just a selfish plug that I'm going to

19:03

put in about the cafe and I think a

19:05

couple people can back me up here, but

19:07

we've we've had coffee at a lot of

19:09

different places in the past couple

19:10

weeks being around. And I can tell I can

19:13

tell you this, our coffee is good.

19:15

>> Come on. I mean, I literally we were

19:18

practicing this morning and David

19:19

ordered a black eye. If you don't know

19:21

what that is, it's a lot of caffeine and

19:22

it's no sugar and that's why he drums

19:25

like an animal up here. So we we I tell

19:28

I tell him if he says two shots, put an

19:30

extra in there. we need it. But when it

19:32

was walking in, the smell of that, it

19:34

was like, man, this thing is good. I

19:35

mean, and so my challenge to you is that

19:38

the students run that. We've got two

19:40

leaders and I want to shout out to to

19:42

Matt and Natalie for run helping run the

19:44

cafe. Give it up for them.

19:47

You know, my my wife helps put together

19:49

the schedule. She coordinates getting

19:50

the students here that got to work that

19:52

week. And so, we had a meeting at the

19:54

beginning of the year and we sat down

19:55

with the parents. We said, "Here's our

19:56

goal. Here's what we want to do. We want

19:58

to put a lot of pressure on the kids

19:59

individually. There's one student that

20:01

works each week. They're going to be the

20:02

ones that kind of learn the system, get

20:04

in get in line, do these things. We've

20:07

got big plans for it out there. There's

20:09

a lot in the works. I mean, pastor, at

20:11

the end of this month, we're going to be

20:12

revealing some of those things, but we

20:14

want the look to be different out there.

20:15

We're waiting for some timing. We've

20:16

already got some renderings drawn up

20:18

about what that's going to look like.

20:20

We've got ideas of new things we want to

20:22

add. And so, we've started an interest

20:24

form. I don't know if you know this, but

20:26

there's a few of you that have filled

20:27

this out. that there's things that you

20:28

like that you want to see out there. We

20:30

want to we want to bring those to you.

20:32

We may not be able to do all those

20:33

things. But all of this, everything

20:35

that's given out there is donated. So

20:38

100% of the proceeds again go towards

20:40

speed of light. And we raise about we

20:43

raise about $100 a week. So that's

20:45

that's the profit that we make out

20:47

there. And so I believe that man,

20:49

Starbucks, they're no good. Let's just

20:51

be honest, right? Uh we've got two

20:54

coffee shops in Mobile that I put a plug

20:56

in for and that's Certas and Red Bar

20:57

that I think can beat our coffee.

20:58

Everybody else they fall short. They

21:00

fall short. We've got good coffee. We've

21:02

got good people that train. I can tell

21:04

you we've got a speed to light cafe chat

21:06

that are amongst our leaders and they're

21:08

all the time sending out this. What if

21:09

we did this? What if we did frappes when

21:11

we go to places we try coffees and we

21:13

like we could do this better? I think we

21:15

could. And so we're constantly trying to

21:16

evolve this. So here's my plug. If

21:19

you've had coffee from back there before

21:21

and it was no good, it's on us. Come

21:23

back there. It will be good. I promise

21:26

you these baristas and we we realize

21:29

that barista barista. I don't know if

21:31

Matt's a barista. I don't know what it

21:32

is. I think it's all barista. But you

21:35

can come back there and you can try

21:36

something and realize this. Everything

21:38

that you give back there goes towards

21:40

missions. It goes towards these kids

21:42

individual fundraiser. We said the weeks

21:44

that you work, we're going to give you

21:45

credit towards speed the light. We

21:47

challenge them again to be here early. I

21:50

mean, Scarlet was working today and she

21:51

showed up and she was here when the band

21:52

was here. I mean, and I mean, they're

21:54

here early ready to do this thing. And

21:56

so, we're putting the emphasis on them.

21:59

It's not just a thing to fill in. We're

22:01

not just babysitters. The same with

22:03

Pastor Eron. Like, if Pastor Eron and

22:05

Miss Sarah up there, if they if they

22:06

were babysitters, like we would go

22:08

somewhere else, but they're not. They're

22:10

teaching them the word of God.

22:11

>> And we want to instill in your young

22:13

people and your children the word of

22:16

God. the heart for missions and we want

22:18

to be advocates alongside you as we've

22:20

said time and time again to help your

22:21

kids see the bigger vision beyond

22:23

themsel that there's something happening

22:25

just as Adeline said man if I can just

22:26

do one thing one thing to help somebody

22:29

know about Jesus that's all that matters

22:32

that's it so I want you to be in prayer

22:35

for us this year I I believe that yeah

22:37

we're going to supersede our goals we're

22:39

going to we're going to meet it I think

22:40

Alabama raised $850,000 this year we're

22:44

going to do bigger things but more than

22:46

that that we would have young people

22:48

that sense the vision, young people

22:50

called to missions. That's a hard prayer

22:53

to pray because I've got a young man

23:02

and I think about him

23:06

going overseas

23:08

and leaving the comfort

23:10

of America and and me and my wife.

23:14

But I would do it,

23:17

man. And God call it

23:20

God call these young people.

23:22

Stir their hearts for something bigger.

23:26

>> And it's all that matters.

23:29

I'm sorry. I didn't plan to get

23:30

emotional. It wasn't part of the script.

23:33

But I believe that God has something in

23:35

store for this church. I know he does. I

23:37

know he does. And it doesn't just stop

23:39

here at the old people, and I'm part of

23:41

that. It starts at the young people.

23:43

God, stir their hearts.

23:46

>> Challenge them to see what it is that

23:48

you want them to do, God. Lord, stir

23:50

them up to where they sense the vision

23:53

for what you have in the Old Testament

23:55

and the New Testament about how God

23:56

called people out of their comfort zones

23:58

to do something greater than they could

24:00

ever imagine, man. And it starts here.

24:04

It starts now. It starts where we put

24:06

our hand to the plow and we live this

24:08

life and we let God speak to our hearts

24:10

so that when we get to that place and

24:11

we're available and God says go, we go

24:14

and it makes all the difference in the

24:15

world. So God, I pray that this morning,

24:18

God, that you would stir up a church,

24:20

Lord. That you would stir up a group of

24:21

young people, God, to sense your

24:24

presence, Lord. Lord, to sense your

24:26

vision, to sense your calling,

24:29

God, that they would know, Lord, that

24:31

you above everything else, God, is what

24:34

we're called to, Lord. We're not called

24:37

to a job. We're not called to a sport.

24:39

We're not called to an extracurricular

24:41

activity. We're not even called to an a

24:44

person, God. We're called to you, God.

24:47

So, whatever you have for us, God, I

24:48

pray, Lord, that we would build our

24:50

foundation on you, your word, God, and

24:53

you would call us to deeper things,

24:55

greater things,

24:57

Lord, and you would give us a heart for

24:59

missions, Lord. This year, I believe,

25:00

Lord, that we're going to do bigger and

25:01

better things than anything ever before,

25:03

Lord. But I pray more than that, God,

25:04

that you would allow us just to be

25:06

sensitive and open to what you have in

25:08

store for us, Lord. Let us be used by

25:10

you, God, as a church, Lord, as young

25:12

people, as students, God, as parents, as

25:15

leaders, God, whatever the calling you

25:17

have on our life, Lord, let us be

25:18

available for you. It's in your name we

25:21

pray. Amen. Amen.

25:24

Amen.

25:26

Amen. We talked during Sunday school.

25:30

Jesus is all that matters.

25:34

That's it.

25:36

Yeah. We want to be comfortable.

25:40

Yeah. We want to keep our kids here,

25:44

but his mission is more important.

25:52

It's different.

25:55

And you just saw it with Pastor Nathan.

25:56

It's different when you say, "I'm

25:58

willing for mine to go."

26:03

And if you don't have any yet, then when

26:05

you have some, you'll understand. Are

26:08

you willing to do what it takes for the

26:10

kingdom?

26:12

We're a missionsminded church.

26:15

Adan, that was fantastic.

26:18

I want to see them in heaven. So,

26:21

whatever I can do, God, whatever little

26:24

I can give, wherever I can volunteer, if

26:27

I can go,

26:29

I'm willing.

26:31

Here I am. send me.

26:34

Here's some money. Here's some prayer.

26:37

Here's my feet in my hands. Willing to

26:39

go and willing to act.

26:42

BGMC, Speed the Light, men's, women's,

26:45

there are a lot of opportunities for you

26:48

to get involved.

26:54

The kingdom.

26:56

I'm pausing here on purpose. I don't

26:58

know why.

27:00

I think sometimes we get we get going in

27:02

our lives and we say, "Oh, I got to do

27:04

this and that and this is my schedule

27:06

and I got to be and I'm going to be hold

27:08

on."

27:09

When I get to the end of my life,

27:13

I'm not going to say, "Man, I wish I'd

27:15

have made another dollar."

27:19

And if they talk about me making paint,

27:21

then I messed up.

27:24

If you don't know, that's what I do for

27:26

a living. I make paint.

27:31

That's my physical job. That's also my

27:34

mission field.

27:36

You have a mission field.

27:39

Every single day, you have a mission

27:40

field. Amen. Will you stand with me?

27:45

We've got uh the Fonsa baby. We're

27:48

celebrating that right after service

27:50

today. Don't forget your hams for our

27:54

missions trip. And Easter is coming. We

27:56

need your candy and we need you to be

27:58

here on the first.

28:02

We need you to be here on the first. I

28:03

got to pastor. I don't know if it got

28:05

past pastor. Y'all going to be here on

28:07

the first for the Easter egg hunt. You

28:08

don't have to hunt Easter eggs. My

28:10

daughter will hunt them for you. It's

28:11

okay. We need you here. It's for the

28:14

kingdom. Amen. Are you ready to worship?

28:17

Father God, we thank you. We praise you

28:20

for who you are. We praise you, Father

28:22

God, for letting us be a part of your

28:24

work.

28:26

giving and praying and sending and

28:29

going, Father God, for your mission so

28:32

that people can hear about you so that

28:34

they can come to know you so that we

28:36

will see them. We will hang out for

28:38

eternity with you in heaven. May our

28:40

praise and our worship be pleasing to

28:42

your ears this morning. In Jesus name we

28:44

pray. Amen.

28:49

Christ is my firm found.

28:54

He's the rock on which I stand.

28:59

Everything around me shaking.

29:04

Oh, I've never been more glad. I put my

29:10

faith in Jesus.

29:14

He's never let me down. He's faithful

29:19

through generations.

29:24

Why would he fail now? He won't.

29:30

Come on. If you believe that today, he

29:33

won't. And I've still got joy.

29:37

And I've still got joy in chaos.

29:42

I've got peace that makes no sense. So I

29:47

won't be going under.

29:51

I'm not held by my own strength. I built

29:56

my life on Jesus.

30:01

He's never let me down. He's faithful in

30:06

every sin. Oh, we declare it, church.

30:10

Oh, so why would he fail now? He won't.

30:17

Oh, he won't fail, Lord. He won't.

30:24

He won't.

30:29

He won't

30:33

be.

30:39

Come on, lift this up. I've still got

30:41

joy when I've still got joy in chaos.

30:47

I've got these that makes no sense. So I

30:52

won't be going under.

30:55

>> Yes, I will. I'm not held by my own

31:00

strength. I built my life on Jesus.

31:06

He's never let me down. He's faithful in

31:12

every season.

31:15

He shouted out. So why would he fail

31:19

now? He won't.

31:25

He won't.

31:29

He won't fail.

31:34

He won't fail.

31:39

He won't.

31:43

He won't

31:48

He won't fail.

31:52

He He won't fail.

32:00

Father, we give you our praise, Lord.

32:02

Come on, across this room, church. Lift

32:05

your hands to him today and just begin

32:07

to reveal, Lord, who he is in your life,

32:10

God. I pray Lord that we begin to sense

32:12

your presence God. Come on, declare this

32:15

today. And rain came when blue. My house

32:22

was built on you.

32:25

And I'm safe with you. I'm going to make

32:32

it through.

32:34

The rain came when blew. My house was

32:40

built on you.

32:44

And I'm safe with you. I'm going.

32:50

>> We're going to make it, Lord. Yeah. I'm

32:53

going to make it through.

32:57

Cuz I'm standing strong on you.

33:02

Oh, I'm going to make it new

33:06

cuz my house was built on you. Christ is

33:11

my firm.

33:15

He's the rock on which I stand.

33:20

Everything around me shaking.

33:24

Oh, I've never been more.

33:29

I'll put my faith in Jesus.

33:34

He's never let me down. He's faithful

33:39

through generation.

33:42

We shout. So why would he fail now? He

33:48

won't.

33:50

But he won't fail if he won't. Oh, he

33:54

won't. Lord,

33:57

he won't fail.

34:02

He won't fail.

34:06

He won't.

34:11

He won't.

34:15

He won't fail.

34:20

He won't fail.

34:30

You won't fail me, Lord.

34:34

There's never been a day, Lord,

34:37

that you've left me, Father,

34:41

that we give you our hearts today, Lord.

34:45

And I pray Lord that this morning God

34:47

that we would just begin to offer

34:48

ourselves to you today God

34:52

everything that we have

34:55

everything that we are Lord

34:58

for our plans our dreams Lord our future

35:01

God our family whatever it is God this

35:04

morning God that's holding us back from

35:07

everything being given to you Lord

35:10

Lord I pray that you stir our hearts

35:12

Lord

35:15

You challenge our minds today, Lord.

35:18

Lord, and help us to truly sing this

35:20

next song, God.

35:22

We lift it up to you, God.

35:25

I give myself away.

35:33

I give myself away.

35:41

I give myself away.

35:49

Give myself away.

35:52

So you come on, declare it today.

35:56

I give myself away.

36:04

Give myself away

36:08

so you

36:10

can use me. I give myself away.

36:20

I give myself away

36:23

so you

36:26

come on. Here I am, Lord. Here I am.

36:32

Here I stand.

36:35

Lord, my life is in your hands.

36:42

Lord, I long

36:47

to see

36:50

your desire

36:53

revealed in me.

36:57

I give myself away.

37:04

I give myself away

37:08

so you can use me. I give myself away.

37:19

I give myself away.

37:23

So Oh, I give myself.

37:26

Oh, I give myself away.

37:34

I give myself away

37:38

so you

37:40

can use me. I give myself away.

37:49

I give myself away.

37:52

So come on, sing it. Take my heart and

37:55

take my life, Lord. Take my heart.

38:00

Take my life

38:04

as a living

38:08

sacriice.

38:11

For my dreams,

38:15

for my prayers.

38:19

Lord, I place them in your hand.

38:26

I give myself away.

38:30

We give it here, Lord.

38:33

I give myself away

38:37

so you

38:38

can use me. I give myself away.

38:45

We give it all to you, God. Oh, I give

38:49

myself away.

38:51

So you I'm going to sing. My life is not

38:54

my own.

38:57

My life is not my own.

39:01

To you I belong.

39:04

I give myself I give myself to you.

39:09

Declare in church my life. Oh my life is

39:13

not my own.

39:15

To you I belong.

39:19

I give myself. I give myself.

39:22

>> Lift that up my life Lord. We give a

39:25

chance. My life is not my own.

39:30

To you I belong.

39:34

I give myself I give myself to you. My

39:38

life Lord is yours.

39:41

My life is not my own.

39:45

To you I belong.

39:48

I give myself I give myself to you.

39:54

I give myself away.

40:01

I give myself away

40:05

so you can use me. I give myself away.

40:16

I give myself away

40:20

so you can use.

40:24

I give myself away.

40:31

I give myself away.

40:39

I give myself away.

40:47

give myself

41:03

nothing else.

41:10

Nothing else will do.

41:14

And I just want you

41:19

else

41:22

nothing else.

41:25

Nothing else will do.

41:29

And I just want you.

41:33

Nothing else.

41:37

Nothing else.

41:40

Nothing else will do.

41:44

And I just want you

41:48

nothing else.

41:52

Nothing else, Jesus.

41:55

Nothing else. Come on, declare his

41:58

holiness today. You're holy. You are

42:01

holy.

42:04

You are rightous.

42:08

You are wonderful.

42:10

in all your ways.

42:15

You are mighty.

42:19

You are matchless. Lord, I'm going to

42:21

worship. I'm going to worship you all.

42:26

Oh, he's holy today, church. I declare

42:29

you are holy.

42:33

You are righteous.

42:35

Yes, he is. You are wonderful

42:39

in all your ways. He is mighty Lord. You

42:44

are mighty God. Oh, you are master.

42:51

So I'm going to worship you. Oh my.

42:57

You're holy, Lord. You are holy.

43:02

You are rightous.

43:06

You are wonderful.

43:08

Give all your way. Yes, he's worthy

43:12

church. You are mighty.

43:17

You are matchless.

43:20

Oh, so I'm going to worship you. Come

43:23

on, just begin to lift him up in worship

43:25

today. We thank you, Lord.

43:30

Your holy father, we give you

43:33

everything.

43:35

Oh, we need your touch today.

43:39

He's worthy. He's worthy.

43:45

Lord, speak to my hearts, God.

43:49

Thank you, Lord. We declare and I just

43:52

want you, Lord.

43:56

I just want you.

44:00

Nothing else.

44:03

Nothing else.

44:07

Nothing else will do.

44:10

I just want you.

44:14

Nothing else.

44:18

Nothing else, Jesus.

44:21

Nothing else.

44:22

>> Oh, I just want you, Lord.

44:25

I just want you.

44:29

Nothing else.

44:32

Nothing else.

44:36

Nothing else. Come on, make that your

44:38

prayer. And I just want you.

44:43

Nothing else.

44:47

Nothing else. Jesus.

44:50

Nothing else will do. He is holy. Lord,

44:55

you are holy.

44:59

You are righteous.

45:02

Oh, you are wonderful in all your ways.

45:10

You are mighty.

45:14

You are matchless.

45:17

So I'm going to worship you, oh my.

45:22

He is holy, Lord. And you are holy

45:28

and you are rightous

45:32

and you are wonderful

45:35

in all your ways

45:40

and you are mighty.

45:44

You are matchless.

45:48

I'm goingship you all my days.

45:54

I just want you.

45:58

Nothing else.

46:02

Nothing else.

46:05

Nothing else will do.

46:09

I just want you

46:14

else

46:19

Jesus.

46:20

Nothing else will do.

46:26

I just want you, Lord.

46:30

I just want you, Father.

46:36

Nothing else will do, Lord.

46:40

Come on. As our pastor comes, just begin

46:41

to lift up that prayer today.

46:44

Lord, begin to speak to our hearts.

46:46

Father, I just want you, Lord.

46:51

Nothing else will do.

46:54

And I just want you

46:59

else

47:03

nothing else.

47:10

I just want you

47:24

Thank you, Jesus,

47:29

>> Lord. I praise you this morning.

47:32

And I thank you, Lord, for the words of

47:34

this song. And Lord, I pray that it

47:37

would truly be the prayer and the desire

47:40

of our heart today that we just want,

47:44

need, and desire you. We need an

47:47

encounter with you. We need a visitation

47:50

from you. We need you to move in our

47:52

midst. We need you to speak into our

47:54

lives, God. We need to hear you clearly

47:57

today, Lord. And then we want to move in

47:59

the direction in which you're calling

48:01

us. You are wonderful.

48:05

You are matchless. You are righteous.

48:08

You are holy. You are loving. You are

48:11

gracious. You are merciful.

48:14

And Lord, you are here with us today in

48:18

all your power and all your glory. And I

48:20

pray Lord that throughout the remainder

48:22

of this service today that we would

48:24

meditate upon your word and this song

48:27

would stay with us for the depths of our

48:29

souls today that Lord as good as it is

48:33

to enjoy fellowship with each other.

48:36

What we really need is just you. And

48:40

Lord, I pray today that this worship

48:42

time and everything, Lord, that has

48:45

transpired this morning has been

48:47

pleasing to you. And that your spirit

48:50

now, Lord, would come and saturate,

48:53

Lord, the atmosphere of this room. And

48:56

that our hearts would be open and

48:58

receptive, Lord, to for you to speak to

49:01

us and then for us to respond in the

49:03

proper way.

49:05

God, it's it's one thing to just be

49:07

hearers of the word, but Lord, you've

49:10

also called us to be doers of the word.

49:13

So, I pray today, Lord, that our our

49:16

spirit would be open and receptive. And

49:18

Lord, that the word and the seed of the

49:21

word would fall on fertile ground and

49:23

take root in our lives. And when we walk

49:26

out of these doors, God, let us be on

49:29

point this morning

49:32

to bring praise, glory, and honor to

49:34

your name in everything that we do. And

49:37

everyone said, "Amen."

49:40

He's good, right?

49:43

Man, that's a great atmosphere this

49:45

morning in this room. Praise the Lord.

49:48

You may be seated today. Thank you,

49:49

worship team, for preparing us and

49:51

leading us this morning.

49:54

The Lord is faithful

49:57

and he is true. And I love that very

49:59

first song that we sang this morning.

50:01

That's the first time I've ever heard

50:02

that. It's a powerful, powerful song. I

50:05

hope you've had a good week. I hope

50:07

you've been blessed. I hope you've been

50:09

walking in God's favor and under his

50:11

anointing this week. I hope you've had

50:13

opportunities to allow the Lord to use

50:17

you and to work in your life this week

50:19

and uh not just been sitting idly by and

50:23

waiting on an opportunity. I hope you've

50:25

been taking every opportunity that's

50:26

been afforded to you to step out in

50:29

faith and to give God glory and honor in

50:32

all areas of your life. If you have your

50:34

Bibles, I want you to turn with me to

50:35

the book of Nehemiah. It's where we're

50:37

going to camp out. One chapter of

50:40

scripture this morning. Nehemiah chapter

50:42

1. And I want to kind of build again, we

50:46

are in missions emphasis month. And as

50:48

you can tell, um, every week this this

50:53

month, we've been highlighting a

50:54

different aspect of missions. We talked

50:57

a little bit about BGMC. We had our

51:00

children in here last week talking about

51:02

uh their heart of uh missions and what's

51:05

being instilled in them upstairs and on

51:07

a weekly basis, not just in children's

51:10

church, but through uh impact and Royal

51:13

Rangers on Wednesday evenings. And you

51:16

you see and you hear from their heart

51:19

about missions and about reaching lost

51:22

souls. And then what a powerful uh

51:24

presentation this morning about speed

51:26

the light. And we hear a lot about speed

51:28

the light and we're doing this

51:30

fundraiser for speed the light or the

51:32

kids are raising money for speed the

51:34

light. But when you boil it all down, I

51:36

think I mentioned it last week, all of

51:38

it is about souls, lost souls for the

51:41

kingdom. There are different aspects and

51:44

ways that um different age groups here

51:47

in our fellowship, raise money and put

51:51

it in a big pot and it's dispersed out

51:53

to meet the needs of missionaries and to

51:56

support missionaries, sending them to

51:57

the field. And we're going to be talking

51:59

a little bit about that next week. As

52:01

you come in here next Sunday morning at

52:04

the end of service, we're going to be

52:06

filling out our faith promise pledges.

52:08

Once again, we do that every March and

52:11

we're going to be doing it a week early

52:14

uh this this year primarily because

52:16

we're moving right into Palm Sunday the

52:19

next week and then Easter Sunday right

52:22

after that. I can't think of a better

52:24

time for us to celebrate missions

52:26

because the heart of Jesus was he came

52:28

to this earth and he bled and died for

52:31

all mankind and he wants us to go out

52:34

and to reach the world and to complete

52:37

what he started and that's all about the

52:39

work of missions in the heartbeat of

52:41

Jesus Christ. So I appreciate your your

52:45

passion and your desire throughout all

52:47

of these years to help us support

52:49

missionaries. We'll be hearing more

52:51

about that. It's the number of

52:53

missionaries that we support uh for a

52:55

church our size is is powerful and it's

53:00

because we have a heart to follow Jesus.

53:02

And you know, missions is not just about

53:04

sending them overseas, but it's also

53:07

about you and I being on mission in our

53:11

lives. And here at home, there's home

53:13

missions as well. We're going to we're

53:15

going to talk a little bit about that

53:17

this morning by looking at Nehemiah and

53:19

Nehemiah's life today.

53:23

There were problems in Nehemiah's day.

53:26

There were problems back in the

53:28

homeland.

53:30

There were things that were not the way

53:33

they were supposed to be or the way God

53:35

had ordained for Israel to be in

53:39

Nehemiah's day and time. And people knew

53:42

it. But there was a man who had

53:44

surrendered his life and his will to God

53:46

and wanted to do something about the

53:48

situation that he found surrounding

53:51

himself. His name was Nehemiah.

53:55

I love the story of Nehemiah. I love the

53:58

book of Nehemiah. I love the willingness

54:02

and the heartbeat of Nehemiah. I love

54:04

how how Nehemiah surrendered every fiber

54:07

of his being to God and made himself

54:09

available to God. And God used him to

54:12

accomplish something in the supernatural

54:15

realm as a willing vessel. And God is

54:18

still looking for people that will be

54:20

sold out and dedicated to him in any way

54:24

where we look around and see problems or

54:27

we see situations that we need God just

54:29

to show up and move in powerful ways and

54:32

people that will just step forward and

54:34

say, "God, here I am. Use me." And God

54:38

always wants to work through a willing,

54:40

soldout vessel that says, "Here I am,

54:43

Lord. Use me. I don't have a lot to

54:46

offer. I can't do it in my own talents

54:48

or giftings and abilities. I don't have

54:51

enough resources to be able to do it.

54:54

But with God, all things become

54:56

possible. And God is just looking for a

54:59

church or he's looking for an individual

55:01

or he's looking for a unit that that

55:03

will simply say, "God, I cannot do it on

55:06

my own, but at this moment, I throw up

55:08

my hands and say, I see the need and I

55:11

know your heart, and if you can use me,

55:13

here I am. use me. And Nehemiah was one

55:17

of those individuals.

55:19

His homeland

55:21

was in a state of disarray and he saw

55:25

the need. Let's begin reading this

55:27

morning. Nehemiah chapter 1, beginning

55:29

in verse two, it says this. Haniah, one

55:33

of my brothers, came from Judah with

55:36

some other men, and I questioned them

55:38

about the Jewish remnant that had

55:40

survived the exile and also about

55:44

Jerusalem itself.

55:47

And they said to me, "Those who survived

55:49

the exile and are back in the province

55:52

are in great trouble and disgrace. The

55:55

wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and

55:58

its gates have been burned with fire.

56:01

And when I heard these things, I sat

56:03

down and wept. For some days, I mourned

56:08

and fasted and prayed before God, before

56:11

the God of said, Lord, the God of

56:14

heaven, the great and awesome God, who

56:17

keeps his covenant of love with those

56:19

who love him and keep his commandments.

56:22

Let your ear be attentive and your eyes

56:25

open to hear the prayer your servant is

56:28

praying before you day and night for

56:31

your servants, the people of Israel. I

56:35

confess the sins we Israelites,

56:37

including myself and my father's family,

56:39

have committed against you. We have

56:42

acted very wickedly toward you. We have

56:46

not obeyed the commands, decrees, and

56:48

laws that you gave your servant Moses.

56:52

Remember the instruction you gave your

56:54

servant Moses, saying, "If you are

56:56

unfaithful, I will scatter you among the

56:59

nations. But if you return to me and

57:02

obey my commands, then even if your

57:05

exiled people are at your your farthest

57:08

horizon, I will gather them from there

57:11

and bring them to the place I have

57:13

chosen as a dwelling place for my name.

57:18

They are your servants and your people

57:21

whom you redeemed by your great strength

57:23

and your mighty hand. Lord, let your ear

57:26

be attentive to the prayer of this your

57:28

servant and to the prayer of your

57:30

servants who delight in revering your

57:32

name. Give your servant success today by

57:36

granting him favor in the presence of

57:39

this man. I was cupbearer to the king.

57:44

Problems in the homeland. There are

57:47

three things in these in these uh 10

57:50

verses of scripture that Nehemiah did to

57:55

change the circumstances that surrounded

57:57

him and surrounded God's people, the

58:01

people of Israel. First thing that we

58:03

see in verses two and three, it says,

58:06

"Haniah,

58:08

one of my brothers, came from Judah and

58:11

some other men, and I questioned them

58:13

about the Jewish remnant that had

58:16

survived the exile and also about

58:19

Jerusalem." And they said to me, "Those

58:22

who survived the exile

58:25

are back in the province are in great

58:27

trouble and disgrace, and the wall of

58:29

Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates

58:34

have been burned with fire." So, let me

58:36

set the the background a little bit. So,

58:39

Nehemiah is in exile. He is in Babylon.

58:43

He is a a Jewish man. believed in the

58:46

Lord God Almighty, but he's been exiled

58:50

most of his life probably.

58:53

Most would say that Nehemiah had

58:55

probably never been to Jerusalem before,

58:58

but

59:00

his family members and people that had

59:03

studied the word. Or maybe he was a

59:05

learner of the word himself, understood

59:08

that he was a Jewish, an Israelite

59:11

person that was called by God, God's

59:13

chosen people, and knew the stories

59:16

going all the way back to the very

59:17

beginning that God had placed a special

59:20

calling and given the calling to

59:22

Abraham. And it was passed down to Isaac

59:24

and then to Jacob and then the 12 tribes

59:27

that God was going to give Israel a land

59:29

that was flowing with milk and honey, a

59:31

promised land. God gave it to them and

59:35

they they rebelled against God. They

59:38

turned their back on God. They turned

59:40

inward. They became selfish in all their

59:43

ways. And God had promised Abraham at

59:46

the very beginning that listen, if you

59:48

will follow me and obey my commands,

59:50

just like he told Moses and the

59:52

Israelites when he set them free from

59:54

the hand of the Egyptians and headed

59:56

them toward this promised land again. If

59:59

you'll follow my ways, I'll be with you

1:00:02

and I will bless you and nothing will be

1:00:04

able to stand against you. But if you

1:00:07

disobey me, if you turn your back on me,

1:00:10

I will bring destruction your way. I

1:00:14

will not completely annihilate you, but

1:00:16

I will scatter you and I will send you

1:00:18

and I'll send you in exile. But when

1:00:20

your heart is right, when your heart

1:00:23

returns back to me, when you pray a

1:00:25

prayer of repentance, I will hear your

1:00:28

prayers. And no matter how far you've

1:00:31

been scattered or where you are or what

1:00:33

type of persecution you find yourself

1:00:35

in, I will hear and I will gather you

1:00:38

back to this land. So Nehemiah obviously

1:00:41

had learned the word or it had been

1:00:44

passed down to him. Maybe he had

1:00:46

individuals in his life that that had

1:00:49

learned and been in the process of

1:00:52

learning and the promises of God. Maybe

1:00:54

like Sunday school teachers or or

1:00:57

pastors or priests or maybe it was

1:01:00

family members or friends that continued

1:01:02

to instill and pass that down. And here

1:01:05

he is living in a foreign land in exile

1:01:09

because his forefathers had been

1:01:11

disobedient to God. and he's living that

1:01:14

out. Has never been to the homeland, but

1:01:17

his heart was always passionate about

1:01:19

the homeland. He knew the promise of God

1:01:23

for himself and for his people and for

1:01:26

his family. And now all of a sudden, he

1:01:29

sees journeymen coming back. He knows

1:01:32

that they've been to to Israel. They had

1:01:36

been to Jerusalem. and he wanted to

1:01:38

know. There was a longing in his spirit

1:01:40

to know what's it like back in

1:01:43

Jerusalem. And he's probably excited to

1:01:45

hear the reports because now there's a

1:01:48

group that was there and some exiles

1:01:50

that were there are or gone back and

1:01:54

he's inquiring of them. What's it like

1:01:57

back at home? What's it like? What's God

1:02:01

doing there? What's the people? How are

1:02:03

how are they living? What's going on in

1:02:05

that place? And then he hears the story

1:02:08

that it's in disarray,

1:02:11

its walls are broken down, and its

1:02:14

people are are living in a way that God

1:02:18

had never intended to them. But as he

1:02:21

heard the story here, he visualized the

1:02:25

problem. As the report came to him in

1:02:28

his mind, he began to put himself in the

1:02:32

place of those exiles that were living

1:02:35

now in Jerusalem. And then he's also

1:02:38

remembering what he's been taught and

1:02:40

what God had had spoken to him and been

1:02:44

passed down to him about the way they

1:02:47

should be living as God's chosen people.

1:02:50

And it broke his heart. So he began to

1:02:55

visualize in his mind what the

1:02:57

atmosphere might be like in that place.

1:03:01

Here he was a captive.

1:03:03

He kept Jerusalem though close to his

1:03:07

heart although he had never been there.

1:03:10

It's kind of like this.

1:03:12

How many of you ever visualize what it's

1:03:14

like to be in heaven?

1:03:17

or maybe what it was like to go back to

1:03:20

one of the Bible stories that you read

1:03:22

about and that you hold close and you

1:03:24

hold dear and you can put yourself in

1:03:28

that place. You're reading the story and

1:03:30

you think, "Man, that's just a powerful

1:03:32

story. I wish I would have been there to

1:03:35

witness that." Or we come into church

1:03:38

and we're here in the atmosphere and God

1:03:40

is moving and a time of praise and

1:03:42

worship and maybe we're singing some

1:03:45

song about going to heaven and being

1:03:47

raptured and being in his presence

1:03:49

forever more and we close our eyes and

1:03:52

imagine what it's like to place oursel

1:03:55

in that moment. I was reading my

1:03:58

devotion really early this morning

1:03:59

before the sun came up and it was all

1:04:02

talking about the rapture and I was

1:04:04

thinking about to myself what is that

1:04:06

going to be like that in a moment in a

1:04:09

twinkling of an eye as the scripture

1:04:11

says that I'm going to be sitting here

1:04:14

on my sofa with my devotion open reading

1:04:17

and all of a sudden bam I'm out of here

1:04:20

and being trans transpired

1:04:24

transitioned from this earth with all of

1:04:27

its problems and its pains all of a

1:04:29

sudden to seeing the Lord face to face.

1:04:32

You ever visualize those things when

1:04:35

you're kind of down and discouraged and

1:04:37

you think about that that in one moment

1:04:40

I'm going to leave all this stuff

1:04:42

behind. And sometimes we find ourselves,

1:04:44

man, I wish it was right now. I'm ready

1:04:47

to wash my hands of this stuff. Or we or

1:04:50

we read stories about what it was like

1:04:53

to win a great victory like David being

1:04:57

and going up against Goliath and the

1:04:59

victory of what it was like for him to

1:05:02

step forward as a young man that really

1:05:06

had no power going up against that that

1:05:09

massive giant but the power of the Holy

1:05:12

Spirit in his words that he trusted God

1:05:16

to bring him down. And then we can

1:05:19

transition oursel and imagine what it

1:05:21

would have been like to be there and to

1:05:23

witness that act take place visualizing

1:05:27

being in those moments and those periods

1:05:29

of time. Well, this is Nehemiah in this

1:05:32

moment. But it's not like a great

1:05:36

celebratory time that's taking place

1:05:39

here. He is an exile and he's in exile

1:05:43

because of the disobedience of his

1:05:45

forefathers. But he's longing for God to

1:05:48

restore and he's longing for the day

1:05:51

that he could go back and live in the

1:05:54

land of promise as God's chosen people.

1:05:57

And he's thinking about his homeland and

1:05:59

he's thinking about Jerusalem. And all

1:06:02

the sudden here comes a band that that

1:06:04

of of travelers that make their way back

1:06:08

from Jerusalem and he runs up to him and

1:06:11

what's it like back home?

1:06:15

What's it like in the in the city of

1:06:17

Jerusalem, God's holy city? What does it

1:06:20

look like there? And he's probably

1:06:22

excited. Maybe the people are rallying

1:06:25

together. Maybe things have turned

1:06:26

around. There's an excitement that's

1:06:28

that's growing inside of the homeland.

1:06:31

But he hears the story and it crushes

1:06:33

his spirit that the walls are in

1:06:36

disrepair

1:06:38

and the city the people are living in

1:06:40

disgrace and it's not the story that he

1:06:43

wanted to hear.

1:06:45

And he visualized what it must be like

1:06:48

living in that moment in that period of

1:06:51

time.

1:06:53

He kept Jerusalem close to his heart.

1:06:57

the walls. Today, when you think about

1:06:59

and read the story,

1:07:02

we don't think much about walls.

1:07:04

We think about in our city, we have city

1:07:08

limits and they they they you know, they

1:07:12

go from Mobile Bay on one side all the

1:07:16

way out and it kind of snakes out toward

1:07:18

West Mobile and north. We're almost

1:07:21

north, almost to the city limit sign

1:07:23

here and then south all the way down to

1:07:26

the bay. And we we think about city

1:07:29

limits, but we don't think about a city

1:07:32

with walls.

1:07:34

When you think about the day in which

1:07:37

Nehemiah was living, the walls were very

1:07:41

important to the people that were living

1:07:43

in those cities in those days.

1:07:47

They meant stability. They meant

1:07:50

survival for the residents that were

1:07:52

living in that city at that time. They

1:07:55

offered safety from raids, raiding

1:07:58

parties that would come in and steal and

1:08:00

kill and destroy. They symbolized to the

1:08:04

people around them that lived in other

1:08:06

lands. That city is a strong city and it

1:08:10

has peace on the inside because of the

1:08:13

safety and stability of its strong

1:08:15

massive walls. It's almost impen

1:08:18

impenetrable for the enemy to make its

1:08:21

way in because the city is so protected

1:08:24

and so guarded. But Nehemiah knew

1:08:27

through this story Jerusalem was left

1:08:30

vulnerable. It was left exposed. It was

1:08:34

left exposed to the enemy that was

1:08:36

around.

1:08:39

And when we read the story, we think

1:08:41

about Old Testament times and how yes,

1:08:45

we can see that, but we've never really

1:08:47

lived in those moments to fully

1:08:50

understand it. But there are things in

1:08:52

our society today that we should have

1:08:56

walls guarding us and protecting us,

1:08:59

built up from prayer and from the Holy

1:09:04

Spirit.

1:09:06

A hedge of protection that we pray for

1:09:09

around ourselves.

1:09:11

We need a hedge of protection. We need

1:09:13

the Lord's angels to protect us from the

1:09:16

attacks that seem

1:09:19

just so powerful that comes against

1:09:21

every part of our society and our world

1:09:24

today.

1:09:26

And we can look around in our community

1:09:28

and think just like Jerusalem,

1:09:32

we find ourselves left vulnerable as a

1:09:35

community.

1:09:37

Societal walls and standards are

1:09:40

destroyed. Our family is left

1:09:44

vulnerable.

1:09:45

Spiritual walls are left vulnerable or

1:09:49

are shattered and broken because of sin

1:09:52

and disobedience.

1:09:54

Today, walls are falling down all around

1:09:57

our community. And God is looking for

1:10:01

someone willing to say, "Here I am,

1:10:04

Lord.

1:10:05

Use me."

1:10:08

He's looking for individuals that'll

1:10:10

say, "God,

1:10:13

we pray and we desire and we long for

1:10:17

your church to be vibrant and powerful,

1:10:22

for our world to change and our

1:10:24

community to be saved and for revival

1:10:27

fires to burn again. But all we see is

1:10:30

heartache and misery and pain and

1:10:33

violence and animosity

1:10:36

and resentfulness that's going around

1:10:39

all throughout society. And we look at

1:10:42

how societal norms and barriers have

1:10:45

been destroyed. And the Lord is saying,

1:10:48

"Listen, I want to send revival. I want

1:10:51

to send my presence. I'm longing to

1:10:53

restore once again, but I'm looking for

1:10:56

someone that'll say, "Here I am, Lord.

1:10:59

work through me. If you can't find any

1:11:02

other person that's willing to do it,

1:11:04

Lord, here we are. Use us. We want to be

1:11:08

pure and we want to be holy and we want

1:11:10

to stand before you. We look around at

1:11:13

what's going on in society and we say,

1:11:15

"God, how can anything change?" And we

1:11:19

think that God's just going to come in

1:11:22

and move his hand and it's going to he's

1:11:24

going to do something in a in a

1:11:26

supernatural way. And he can't.

1:11:29

But what I see throughout the New

1:11:30

Testament is God is looking for

1:11:33

individuals that he can work through.

1:11:37

Sold out lives that know what it means

1:11:40

to pray and to intercede and to

1:11:42

visualize the problem that is around us,

1:11:46

the societal decay that is destroying

1:11:49

our nation and our community and our

1:11:52

families and our church world.

1:11:55

And the Lord says, "I want to do it. I

1:11:59

want people to be delivered. I want

1:12:01

people to be saved. I want to breathe

1:12:03

upon your community once again. I want

1:12:06

to wave my hand and send revival fires.

1:12:09

And I want I want people to come in

1:12:11

waves to come to know me as Lord and

1:12:14

Savior and experience. But I'm looking

1:12:16

for an individual or I'm looking for a

1:12:19

group of people that says, "Lord, if you

1:12:21

can't find anyone else, here I am. I

1:12:24

make myself available to you."

1:12:27

We got to look around. It's easy for us

1:12:30

to look at society. It's easy for us to

1:12:34

see the negativity and listen, all you

1:12:36

have to do is turn on the news in the

1:12:39

evening.

1:12:41

And it's easy for us to be very

1:12:44

complacent,

1:12:45

very pessimistic,

1:12:48

looking around at society and say,

1:12:50

"Well, there it's hopeless for anything

1:12:52

to change."

1:12:54

Nothing is hopeless or impossible with

1:12:57

God.

1:12:58

Nothing. God's looking for willing

1:13:01

vessels. It's time for us to put the

1:13:04

devil on notice.

1:13:06

You have robbed and you have stolen and

1:13:08

you have killed and you have tried to

1:13:10

destroy long enough and I'm not taking

1:13:13

it anymore.

1:13:15

>> You had your way in my community and in

1:13:18

my nation and in my family and in my

1:13:21

church and in our society long enough

1:13:24

and I'm not going to take it anymore.

1:13:27

>> I am sold out to God. I am God's

1:13:30

individual and I want God to work in

1:13:33

this day and time and put a stop to

1:13:35

these things. And I know that that's

1:13:36

God's heartbeat is for him to restore

1:13:40

and to hear us when we repent and we cry

1:13:43

cry out to him. But you and I have got

1:13:46

to like Nehemiah,

1:13:48

we've got to visualize the problem

1:13:50

that's around us. It's easy for us to

1:13:54

point blame. It's easy for us to

1:13:57

condemn. It's easy for us to point at

1:14:00

leaders or the lack of leadership at the

1:14:04

circumstances that's going on and gripe

1:14:07

and complain and just sit idly by and

1:14:10

cross our hands and be negative. But

1:14:12

that doesn't do anything to change the

1:14:14

problem. But when the church rises up in

1:14:18

faith and boldness and power and it does

1:14:21

what the church is called to do, which

1:14:23

is to pray and and to surrender ourself

1:14:26

and to repent of our sins and to ask God

1:14:29

to do a new work inside of us. God, you

1:14:31

did it in the past. I know you can do it

1:14:34

today. And I know what the scripture

1:14:36

says. You want to send a an end time

1:14:39

revival into our community. Lord, help

1:14:41

me to be a part of that. Here I am,

1:14:45

Lord. Use me.

1:14:50

He visualized the problem. But yet he

1:14:53

also

1:14:55

he also came to the conclusion of the

1:14:58

decision

1:14:59

that he agonized over the dilemma.

1:15:04

Now I put myself in this situation

1:15:08

and I think about it a lot. It hurts me

1:15:11

to see and to hear of things that go on

1:15:16

in our nation that's contrary to the

1:15:18

will of God.

1:15:21

It hurts me when I see

1:15:24

sin abound in our community. We live in

1:15:28

the Bible belt. We talk about Jesus and

1:15:31

we talk about being Christians. Yet we

1:15:34

see what what seems to be more and more

1:15:37

sin and destruction that's taken place

1:15:41

in our community. I think about the the

1:15:45

family of three that was just savagely

1:15:47

murdered in Theodore in the past couple

1:15:50

of weeks and we think how in the world

1:15:53

is that possible in a civilized society?

1:15:57

Well, anything is possible when our

1:15:59

hearts go away from God and we're not

1:16:03

surrendered to our creator who gives us

1:16:06

passion and meaning and purpose in in

1:16:08

moving about in life

1:16:11

when we allow sin to take over will

1:16:14

destroy in in every area of our life.

1:16:19

But Nehemiah, when he heard about

1:16:21

Jerusalem and heard about his homeland

1:16:24

and remembered what God had promised and

1:16:26

how far removed they were from living

1:16:29

that out, he agonized over the dilemma.

1:16:33

And it said that he wept about it. Now,

1:16:37

when I read this in in preparation for

1:16:40

today, I had to ask myself, Spence,

1:16:43

when's the last time that you wept

1:16:46

over your community?

1:16:49

There's a lot of times that I can turn

1:16:51

on the television

1:16:54

and I I can be negative about what's

1:16:57

happening and not like it and try to

1:17:00

point blame somewhere else. Listen,

1:17:04

it's not politicians,

1:17:07

it's not police officers, not judges,

1:17:09

it's not anything that's going to change

1:17:10

it. It's the church that's going to

1:17:13

change it. It's a heart problem. It's a

1:17:17

sin problem. It's a disobedience

1:17:19

problem. And God's looking for people

1:17:22

that can heal the problem that he can

1:17:24

work through to heal the problem that

1:17:27

deals with the sin of the heart.

1:17:30

We've talked about missions this

1:17:31

morning. And most of the time when we

1:17:33

talk about missions, we talk about like

1:17:35

raising funds to send it to missionaries

1:17:38

or put a missionary on the field or or

1:17:40

to give them the equipment that they

1:17:42

need or speed the light, give them

1:17:44

vehicles to get to certain places. And

1:17:46

we think, well, I can do that. I just

1:17:48

write a check and, you know, I'll

1:17:49

support the I'll support Adeline on her

1:17:52

fundraising campaign next year. You

1:17:54

know, she $1,500. She did a great job

1:17:57

raising 14 and I'll help her get to that

1:18:00

point next year and we'll pat ourselves

1:18:02

on the back about it. But that's that's

1:18:03

not all that missions is.

1:18:07

Missions is here and now.

1:18:10

Missions is at this moment.

1:18:12

We talk about foreign missions and we

1:18:15

think about foreign missions a lot,

1:18:18

but there's a lot to do with home

1:18:20

missions right here at home. Nehemiah,

1:18:24

although he was in exile,

1:18:27

his heart was at home. His heart was

1:18:32

passionate about the homeland,

1:18:36

about the people rising up, for them

1:18:39

getting back to being the people of God,

1:18:42

God's favor and blessing. And he wanted

1:18:45

to see the walls rebuilt and the exiles

1:18:49

return. But beyond that, for God's favor

1:18:52

and anointing to rest upon his people

1:18:56

and then for for them with their hearts

1:18:59

right, for God to make them the people

1:19:01

and the nation that he had called them

1:19:04

to be.

1:19:06

We should have a heart for our community

1:19:08

and for our nation and for our world to

1:19:12

be all that God has destined us to be.

1:19:16

And it starts with our own heart and our

1:19:18

own longing. visualizing what the

1:19:21

problem is and how did we get to this

1:19:24

this place. We can look back to the past

1:19:27

and we can see wonderful outpourings of

1:19:30

the mighty move of God in our society.

1:19:33

But and how did we get so far away from

1:19:35

it? How did we get to the place that we

1:19:37

find ourselves in today? You know, the

1:19:41

churches in America are starting to

1:19:43

decline. We're following a a pattern

1:19:46

like Europe. I read an article yesterday

1:19:48

that said if we stay on its current

1:19:51

track that in just a few years, America

1:19:54

should expect to see a 100,000 churches

1:19:57

close its doors.

1:20:00

Why?

1:20:02

Because we're getting away from the

1:20:04

things that are most important.

1:20:08

It's not about just being church or

1:20:11

doing church.

1:20:13

It's about a heart after God.

1:20:17

Lord, how did we get here? What do I

1:20:21

need to do to to turn back? What do I

1:20:25

need to do to receive your favor upon

1:20:28

our our life? In verse four, it says

1:20:30

that Nehemiah agonized over the dilemma.

1:20:34

When I heard these things, he said, I

1:20:37

sat down and I wept.

1:20:41

For some days I mourned and fasted and

1:20:43

prayed before the God of heaven.

1:20:47

The only hope our nation and our

1:20:50

community and our world has is found in

1:20:54

the church of Jesus Christ. And the only

1:20:58

church, the only hope that the church

1:21:00

has is found in you and I. The church is

1:21:04

not an organization. The church is not a

1:21:07

building at a certain address. The

1:21:09

church is made up of the people that

1:21:11

have been bought and paid for by the

1:21:13

blood of Jesus Christ and know what it

1:21:15

is to be saved, redeemed, and

1:21:18

transformed by the blood of almighty

1:21:20

God. And when we realize who we are,

1:21:22

then we want people to say, we want

1:21:25

people to see and to hear and to

1:21:26

understand, you need a taste of this. It

1:21:30

will liberate you and it will set you

1:21:32

free and it will set you on fire.

1:21:35

>> That's what my community needs. That's

1:21:38

what my nation needs. That's what the

1:21:40

world needs is the hope of glory.

1:21:44

Nehemiah was broken.

1:21:46

But he made himself available to God. In

1:21:50

13 chapters of this book, 11 of them

1:21:54

find Nehemiah on his face before God in

1:21:58

prayer. 11.

1:22:01

What does that tell us today?

1:22:03

Prayer has got to be the key of anything

1:22:07

and everything that we do. If we want to

1:22:09

make an impact in our family, if we want

1:22:12

to rebuild some walls, if we want the

1:22:15

the light to shine forth, then listen,

1:22:17

we've got to be on our knees, crying out

1:22:21

to God, receiving our marching orders,

1:22:23

letting him hear from us, letting us

1:22:26

hear the voice of God speak to us, and

1:22:29

help us to know what he wants us to do.

1:22:32

God is the God of the impossible. Yes,

1:22:35

God's people are called to be on their

1:22:37

knees. I heard a quote a few years ago

1:22:41

that really kind of struck me to the

1:22:43

core and it kind of goes along with this

1:22:45

today that says this. If we're living

1:22:47

without fasting and we're giving without

1:22:51

sacrificing and we're praying without

1:22:53

weeping, no wonder that we're sowing

1:22:58

without reaping.

1:23:00

And that makes a lot of sense today.

1:23:03

Nehemiah prayed a prayer of repentance

1:23:07

first. He understood what what caused

1:23:12

this societal problem. What caused his

1:23:16

people to be in exile? What has caused

1:23:19

the vulnerability in the homeland where

1:23:22

the people live

1:23:25

a vulnerable lifestyle and its walls are

1:23:27

destroyed

1:23:29

as they walked away from God.

1:23:32

And he understood that the first step

1:23:34

back is for you and I to pray a prayer

1:23:37

of repentance. A heartfelt prayer of

1:23:40

repentance. God knows the difference

1:23:42

between us just speaking words

1:23:45

and when it's coming from the depths of

1:23:47

our heart and our soul. It's kind of

1:23:49

like this. We can come in on Sunday

1:23:51

mornings and we can sing the songs off

1:23:53

the screen.

1:23:56

We used to sing them out of a book and

1:23:58

boy that was a big thing when we got

1:24:00

went away with the books and then we

1:24:02

started singing them off the wall as

1:24:04

people would say. It doesn't make a

1:24:06

difference where it's coming from other

1:24:09

than it needs to be coming from here.

1:24:13

God knows the difference when we're

1:24:15

praying prayers,

1:24:18

selfish prayers,

1:24:21

prayers

1:24:23

to show prayers to show off

1:24:26

or prayers of desperation and repentance

1:24:29

before God.

1:24:32

And Nehemiah prayed a prayer of

1:24:34

repentance first. Look at verse six,

1:24:37

kind of the end of verse six. He said

1:24:40

this, "I confess the sins we Israelites,

1:24:43

including myself and my father's family,

1:24:46

have committed against you. We have

1:24:48

acted very wickedly toward you. We have

1:24:51

not obeyed the commands, decrees, and

1:24:53

laws you gave your servant Moses."

1:24:58

When we're willing to repent for others

1:25:00

sins instead of just talking about what

1:25:03

someone else is doing, then that moves

1:25:06

the heart of God. It's easy for us to

1:25:10

complain about things. It's easy for us

1:25:12

to point fingers. It's something

1:25:14

different for you and I to be on our

1:25:16

prayer bones and interceding for the

1:25:19

circumstances and the people around us

1:25:21

and for oursel. That is what moves the

1:25:24

heart of God. And God knows the

1:25:27

difference between what's coming from

1:25:29

here and what's just words coming out of

1:25:31

our mouth. God wants to hear the cry of

1:25:35

our heart.

1:25:37

Nehemiah visualized the problem.

1:25:40

Nehemiah agonized over the dilemma. And

1:25:43

then last but not least, Nehemiah

1:25:47

personalized his response to God. Look

1:25:50

at verse 11.

1:25:52

Lord, let your ear be attentive to the

1:25:56

prayer of this your servant and to the

1:25:59

prayer of your servants who delight in

1:26:02

revering your name. Give your servant

1:26:05

success today by granting him favor in

1:26:07

the presence of this man. For I

1:26:11

was cupbearer to the king. Now,

1:26:15

sometimes we say, "I don't know that I

1:26:18

want to ask God selfishly to do

1:26:20

something for me."

1:26:23

When you're going before God and you're

1:26:25

asking for God to work through you, it's

1:26:28

it's easy and you should ask for God's

1:26:31

favor to be upon you. Sometimes we we

1:26:35

pray sometimes and we think, "Well, I'm

1:26:37

not so sure that that kind of sounds a

1:26:39

little self-righteous for me to be

1:26:41

asking." Listen, we want God to be with

1:26:44

us where we go.

1:26:46

>> God, when I walk out of this door, let

1:26:48

my light so shine before men that you

1:26:51

receive all the glory in my life. It's

1:26:53

not about me showing off. It's not about

1:26:56

my position. It's not about that I'm

1:26:58

something greater than somebody else

1:27:00

outside in this world. No, I've just had

1:27:02

an encounter with the King of Kings and

1:27:04

the Lord of Lord is in his house. And

1:27:06

when I walk out this door, I should

1:27:08

radiate the presence of the Holy Spirit.

1:27:11

And God, I pray that you would use me

1:27:13

when I walk out of these doors. Help me

1:27:15

to go and help me to have an encounter

1:27:17

with somebody. Place me in a position,

1:27:19

Lord, where somebody is in need and then

1:27:22

give me the boldness to be able to speak

1:27:24

the truth and love to them. Give me

1:27:27

favor. Listen, God wants everybody in

1:27:30

this room to be blessed today. He wants

1:27:33

his favor to be poured out in great

1:27:36

measure upon every one of us in this

1:27:38

room. Not for our selfish motus, but for

1:27:41

his glory at the end of it. We come into

1:27:44

this place to worship and to magnify his

1:27:47

name and to have an encounter with God

1:27:49

and to hear his word and then apply it

1:27:52

to our life. But if we just let it go

1:27:54

inside of here, it's going to die inside

1:27:57

of here unless it's cultivated and given

1:28:00

away.

1:28:01

Are you with me today?

1:28:05

>> You have not because you ask not.

1:28:09

God, I want more of you. God, I want to

1:28:11

be about your presence. I want to see

1:28:15

what you see. I want to hear what you

1:28:18

hear. I want to be your hands and feet.

1:28:20

I want to go where you would go. Help

1:28:22

me, Lord Jesus, to make a difference in

1:28:26

the circumstances around me.

1:28:30

Do you love where you live?

1:28:33

Do you love our nation?

1:28:37

Do you want God's favor to rest upon us

1:28:39

and his blessings to be poured out in

1:28:42

great measure? Do you want revival to be

1:28:45

poured out in our nation once again?

1:28:49

God wants that more than you do. He

1:28:52

wants it more than I do. He wants people

1:28:54

to be set ablaze. He wants us to long

1:28:58

for him. But it starts with us having a

1:29:01

pray praying a prayer of repentance from

1:29:04

our heart before God. God, we have

1:29:07

sinned. We have sinned as a nation. We

1:29:09

have turned our back on you. We used to

1:29:11

be known a as a Christian nation, but

1:29:15

we're running as far away from that as

1:29:17

we possibly can. But God, I make myself

1:29:21

available to you at this altar today.

1:29:23

and I lift up my hands and I say, "God,

1:29:25

forgive me of my sins and forgive us,

1:29:28

God, the sins of our fathers that have

1:29:31

turned our backs on you." And Lord, as

1:29:34

we pray on behalf of not only ourselves,

1:29:38

but on behalf of our brothers and our

1:29:40

sisters and our nation, that will move

1:29:42

the heart of God. And if we make oursel

1:29:45

available to say, Lord, if you're

1:29:48

looking for someone that you can use in

1:29:50

these days, here I am.

1:29:53

Here we are as a church, God, in this in

1:29:56

this city. Help us, Lord Jesus, to be

1:29:59

about your mission today. I see the

1:30:03

need. I visualize the problem that's

1:30:05

around. God, I I'm beginning to agonize

1:30:09

over the dilemma that we find ourselves

1:30:11

in,

1:30:13

but Lord, I make myself available to you

1:30:16

today.

1:30:18

That's missions as well.

1:30:21

It's not just about somebody being

1:30:23

called and somebody going overseas or us

1:30:26

providing a vehicle or some material for

1:30:29

them to teach, but it's also about you

1:30:32

and I knowing who we are, knowing how

1:30:35

God's called us and knowing that he's he

1:30:38

wants to work through our lives if we

1:30:41

make oursel available to him. Amen.

1:30:45

Would you bow your heads with me this

1:30:47

morning?

1:30:52

Lord, I thank you today

1:30:54

for your goodness.

1:30:56

And I thank you, Lord, for your desire

1:31:00

to save

1:31:02

and to empower

1:31:04

and to impact a generation with your

1:31:06

glory.

1:31:09

And Lord, I pray today that you would

1:31:11

ignite a passion inside of us instead of

1:31:14

us looking around and saying, "This

1:31:17

seems almost impossible to do."

1:31:21

Let us begin to realize that the God of

1:31:24

the impossible

1:31:26

dwells inside of me.

1:31:30

With you, God all things become

1:31:32

possible.

1:31:34

Scripture says, "All things are

1:31:36

possible, Lord, to those who believe."

1:31:39

Help us today to believe like we've

1:31:42

never believed before. Help us, Lord, to

1:31:45

take the scales off of our eyes and help

1:31:48

us to look around at the things that we

1:31:51

see in our world

1:31:54

and to say, Lord,

1:31:57

if you need an instrument, if you need

1:31:59

somebody, God, that you can use, here we

1:32:02

are, God, send me.

1:32:09

God, help us to begin to

1:32:12

see the community the way you see the

1:32:14

community.

1:32:17

Help us to grieve

1:32:19

over sin and waywardness and

1:32:21

disobedience

1:32:23

and the things, Lord, that have pulled

1:32:25

us away from our first love.

1:32:29

and help us to realize God

1:32:33

that what is going to change the

1:32:36

circumstances around us

1:32:39

is the passion and the fire and the

1:32:42

salvation that abides in the hearts and

1:32:46

lives of a soldout believer.

1:32:51

God, you can do something miraculous and

1:32:54

shake us to our core.

1:32:56

You can ride it in the sky. You can

1:32:59

speak audibly to lost people, but you

1:33:03

choose to use your church that has been

1:33:06

in that has been empowered

1:33:09

by your Holy Spirit.

1:33:12

You desire to send us out. You desire to

1:33:15

breathe upon us again. You desire to fan

1:33:19

the flame, God, of revival inside of us

1:33:23

that makes people living in darkness

1:33:25

understand and turn their attention

1:33:28

toward the great light that lives

1:33:31

inside of your church and inside of your

1:33:33

people.

1:33:35

Forgive us of our sins. Forgive us of

1:33:38

our the sins of our forefathers.

1:33:40

Forgive us, Lord, as a nation for

1:33:42

turning our back on you. And Lord, today

1:33:46

we just cry out to you once again

1:33:51

and ask you God to draw us back to you a

1:33:53

fresh and a new today.

1:33:58

Lord, we praise you today, God, and for

1:34:00

your glory. And I pray, Lord, that you

1:34:02

would help us to never take for granted

1:34:06

the precious gift of your son that we

1:34:09

celebrate here at this season of the

1:34:11

year. Looking forward to Easter.

1:34:15

Help us to use it, God, your mercy and

1:34:18

your grace to make an impact, Lord, with

1:34:22

those that are around us today

1:34:25

in Jesus name.

1:34:29

I want to ask you this morning, if

1:34:31

you're here

1:34:34

and you want God to work through you,

1:34:37

you want to be an instrument that would

1:34:39

say, "God,

1:34:43

there's anything in my life that has

1:34:46

hindered me from being an instrument

1:34:48

that you can work with.

1:34:50

I want to make a renewed commitment to

1:34:52

you and I want to lay my own selfish

1:34:55

ways down at this altar

1:34:58

and you need God to ignite a passion

1:35:00

inside of you once again

1:35:03

and you want to make yourself available

1:35:05

for God to work through you.

1:35:08

I want you to meet me here at this altar

1:35:10

for a few minutes before we close. Then

1:35:12

we're going to have closing prayer, pray

1:35:14

over a need, and then we're going to be

1:35:16

dismissed. But I think the best way for

1:35:19

us to end this service today is at a

1:35:23

place of yielding and surrender before

1:35:25

God at his altar.

1:35:28

God wants to use us. God wants to impact

1:35:32

uh this community and our nation through

1:35:35

us.

1:35:36

But we've got to be sold out and

1:35:38

dedicated to him. And if you want to be

1:35:41

that person that he can work through,

1:35:43

join me here this morning for a few

1:35:45

minutes at this altar. Then we're going

1:35:47

to be dismissed today.

1:36:01

at your feet.

1:36:05

I'm caught up in this holy

1:36:09

moment.

1:36:13

I never want to leave.

1:36:21

Lord, I'm not here for blessing.

1:36:30

Jesus, you don't owe me anything.

1:36:38

More than anything

1:36:41

that you can do,

1:36:46

I just want you.

1:36:54

Oh Lord, I'm sorry

1:36:59

when I've just gone through the motions.

1:37:03

I'm sorry

1:37:06

when I've just sang another song. Take

1:37:11

me back to where we started.

1:37:15

I open up my heart

1:37:19

to you. Oh Lord, I'm sorry, Father.

1:37:26

And I'm sorry

1:37:30

when I've come to my agenda. I'm sorry

1:37:37

when I forgot that you're enough. Take

1:37:42

me back to where we started. Lord, I've

1:37:46

opened up my heart

1:37:49

to you.

1:37:52

Oh Lord, I'm caught in your presence,

1:37:55

God. Caught up in your presence.

1:38:00

I just want to sit here, Lord,

1:38:03

and I just want to sit here at your

1:38:08

feet.

1:38:11

I'm brought up in this holy

1:38:15

morning.

1:38:18

I never want to leave.

1:38:22

And I'm not here for blessing.

1:38:26

I'm not here for the blessing.

1:38:31

Jesus, you don't know me, God. Oh,

1:38:34

Jesus, you don't know me.

1:38:39

these things

1:38:42

more than anything

1:38:44

that you can do. Oh, I just I just want

1:38:51

you. Come on, declare it, church. I just

1:38:54

want you, Lord. I just want you.

1:39:00

Nothing else.

1:39:04

Nothing else.

1:39:07

Nothing else will do.

1:39:11

I just want you.

1:39:15

Nothing else.

1:39:19

Nothing else.

1:39:22

Nothing else will do.

1:39:26

And I just want you.

1:39:30

Nothing else come

1:39:34

and nothing else.

1:39:37

Nothing else will do.

1:39:41

I just want you.

1:39:45

Nothing else.

1:39:49

Nothing else. Jesus.

1:39:52

Nothing else will do. He is holy. Lord,

1:39:57

you are holy.

1:40:01

You are rightous,

1:40:04

oh God. You are wonderful

1:40:07

in all your ways.

1:40:12

You are mighty.

1:40:16

You are matchless, Lord. Oh, so I'm

1:40:20

going to worship you all my days. Just

1:40:25

worship him, Lord. We give you our

1:40:28

praise, Lord.

1:40:30

Everything we are, Lord,

1:40:34

you worthy of all our praise today.

1:40:41

Give it all.

1:40:45

We give you our everything, God.

1:40:49

We declare it, Father.

1:40:51

And I just want you.

1:40:56

I just want you.

1:41:00

Nothing else.

1:41:03

Nothing else.

1:41:07

Nothing else will do.

1:41:11

I just want you.

1:41:15

Nothing else.

1:41:18

Nothing else.

1:41:22

Nothing else will do.

1:41:25

And I just

1:41:34

else

1:41:38

will do

1:41:45

nothing else.

1:41:49

Nothing else.

1:41:52

Nothing else.

1:41:59

We thank you. We thank you, Father,

1:42:02

for your mercy.

1:42:08

Thank you, Lord. God, we give you our

1:42:10

praise this morning.

1:42:13

everything that we are,

1:42:16

every plan, every agenda that we have,

1:42:18

Lord, for our future.

1:42:22

And I pray that just like Nehemiah,

1:42:23

Lord, we would see what it is that's

1:42:26

ahead of us, God, with the place that we

1:42:28

find ourselves in, the place our city,

1:42:30

our family, what our jobs, those around

1:42:33

us are in, God. They're hungry for you,

1:42:35

Lord.

1:42:37

Lord, some are in the midst of

1:42:38

destruction, Lord. maybe destruction

1:42:40

that they brought upon themselves, Lord.

1:42:42

But nonetheless, Lord, you are the one

1:42:46

that does need Jesus.

1:42:49

So, I pray that you stir our hearts this

1:42:51

morning,

1:42:53

that we would have a heart after

1:42:54

missions, Lord, that we would not be

1:42:56

sitting by idally complacent, Lord, with

1:42:58

where the state of the world is at,

1:43:01

Lord. That we would step up. We would be

1:43:03

used by you, Father.

1:43:06

We thank you, Lord, for who you are.

1:43:09

It's in your name we pray.

1:43:12

Amen. Listen, before we're dismissed

1:43:14

today, Brother Kevin is standing right

1:43:17

here with us today and he is going in

1:43:19

for surgery on Tuesday morning early. Um

1:43:23

he's got pretty serious surgery on his

1:43:25

spine and his back. They're going to be

1:43:27

out of commission for probably about

1:43:30

three months or so, but we know that

1:43:32

God's able to do a lot more and a lot

1:43:35

faster. So before he goes in and faces

1:43:39

surgery on Tuesday, I want us to stretch

1:43:42

our hands toward you today. And I want

1:43:44

to pray God's blessing and favor to fall

1:43:47

upon his life today. And God would bring

1:43:50

healing in in a very fast way this

1:43:52

morning. So let's pray. Father, I thank

1:43:54

you for Kevin today and I thank you Lord

1:43:56

for his life. I thank you for his faith.

1:43:58

I thank you for his dedication toward

1:44:00

you, Lord. And today, Lord, we just join

1:44:03

together in singleness of purpose in one

1:44:06

heart and one mind and one accord. And

1:44:08

we surround him, Lord, with prayer

1:44:10

today. And we know, Lord, that you are

1:44:13

the great physician and you are the

1:44:14

healer today. And I pray, Lord, that

1:44:17

there would be a peace and a presence

1:44:18

that would settle in, Lord, to to

1:44:21

Kevin's mind and spirit today. And Lord,

1:44:24

as he leaves this church, let him know

1:44:26

that you have him. You have him in the

1:44:28

palm of your hand. And you Lord are

1:44:30

bringing about the work of healing in

1:44:32

his body. We know Lord that you can

1:44:34

speak to this spine. And we know Lord

1:44:35

that you can make him whole in every way

1:44:37

today that he can leap and jump and

1:44:40

shout and walk out of this place

1:44:41

completely and totally healed in every

1:44:44

way. But Lord, we also know that you

1:44:46

give wisdom and guidance and direction

1:44:48

to surgeons and to those Lord who are

1:44:51

who are your instruments of healing God

1:44:53

today. And I pray, Lord, that you would

1:44:55

guide and direct the hands of this

1:44:57

surgeon. Lord, if he goes into surgery

1:44:59

on Tuesday morning, I pray that

1:45:01

everything would go better than was

1:45:03

planned. Lord, what man is planned is is

1:45:06

one thing, but what God's plan is is

1:45:08

something totally different. I pray that

1:45:10

the pain would subside. I pray, Lord,

1:45:13

that his spine would be would be healed.

1:45:15

And I pray the pressure points, Lord,

1:45:17

would be released. And I pray that the

1:45:19

moment he wakes up from surgery, Lord,

1:45:21

that he would know that there is a

1:45:23

difference that has transpired. And I

1:45:25

pray, Lord, that the recovery process

1:45:28

would be faster, Lord, than what any man

1:45:30

believes is possible. But Lord, from

1:45:33

this day forward, I pray that your

1:45:35

spirit, Lord, would surround him and

1:45:37

carry him, Lord, on the on angel's

1:45:39

wings, Lord, throughout this process.

1:45:41

And we give you praise and glory and

1:45:44

honor today. And I pray that your Holy

1:45:46

Spirit, Lord, would guide him every step

1:45:48

of the way through every part of the

1:45:50

healing process. And we give you all

1:45:52

praise, glory, and honor for it today.

1:45:55

And we stand upon that word that by your

1:45:57

stripes, Lord, we are healed in Jesus

1:46:01

name. And we give you all praise and

1:46:03

glory, Lord, for doing it today.

1:46:06

Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

1:46:12

Amen.

1:46:13

He's good, right? He's faithful. Let God

1:46:17

work through you and flow through you

1:46:19

this week. Listen, remember ladies,

1:46:21

there's the shower in the fellowship

1:46:23

hall immediately after this service for

1:46:25

Ali Fonsica. Just make your way right

1:46:28

over there. God bless you as you go and

1:46:30

we'll see you back Wednesday night 6:30.
