I Asked My Assistant to Be My Wife

I'll miss you so much.

I also want to ask you [music]

something.

I was wondering if you were 5 years ago,

Hannah came into my life as my assistant

and I had no idea it [music] was going

to lead to this. Her job was the

creative assistant to help us bring all

the crazy ideas to life and somehow not

only was she keeping up with the crazy

chaos, she was joining IN WITH US.

>> THAT WAS CARELESS STONE AGAIN. ONE MORE

>> BUT what I didn't know back then is that

this girl would eventually not only

become my best friend

>> You TWO ARE PERFECT.

>> BUT BECOME THE PERSON THAT I WOULD

MARRY, that I want to build my life

with, have kids with and start a family

with. But through the last 5 years, we

have been through a lot. The fun stuff,

the crazy stuff, the long distance, a

lot of moments that could have easily

pulled a lot of people apart. But

instead, it just made us stronger.

>> And I needed [music] to do those things

to become the person I am today. And

after finally moving in together for the

first time, something changed for me.

Felt like home and a place where I got

to live with my best friend forever and

that's when I knew

that it was time for me to marry my

assistant. So now, the first step is

buying a ring and finding one. Now

throughout the years of hanging out with

Hannah, I've always gone out and looked

for rings just for [music] click bait

reasons or just because I was like why

not look at rings? But I never really

took [music] it serious until now. But

the cool thing is is now I have video

and footage [music] of all the times I

went to go look at rings with her and I

was able to sift through my phone and

find a pattern. I was able to take

[music] that pattern and go with my mom

and start searching for rings. And

around this time, I did not film [music]

anything cuz I wanted zero idea to go

through Hannah's head that I'm looking

at a ring. [music] I wanted her to have

no idea that it's coming. But

eventually, as I was looking through

with my mom, I finally found a ring that

just looked perfect. So now, now that I

have the ring, I'm about to fly to Japan

and ask my former assistant, creative

director, to be my wife. We're going to

be

>> Oh, they [music] got you flowers.

Dude, the doors are so small.

Bro, you can hit your head on the top. I

feel tall here. Oh my god, babe.

>> Can [music] you even sit in it?

>> [clears throat]

>> This is the tub. This is the tub. I can

literally pee.

>> Ew, cool.

>> Now, while we were in Japan, we were

enjoying our time there. It was so much

fun at Tokyo Drift. Wow, this is

actually insane. I can't believe we're

here right now.

Now, Hannah and I decided to extend the

trip and stay there even longer. And as

we were talking about Japan, Hannah

would not shut up about these cherry

blossoms. And one thing about Hannah is

she's always wanted to have the most

beautiful proposal ever. She's talking

about Paris and on top of the Eiffel

Tower. And I was like, I can't do that

because that's just too obvious. I'm

like, let's just go to Paris. So, I

thought this would be the perfect

opportunity to take something that she

loves so much, which is the aesthetic

cherry blossoms, and this beautiful trip

to Japan that we're taking together. So,

I tricked her. I said, "You know what?

We're going on vacation. Let's enjoy a

really good trip, but you get to pick

one really good place. And I want it to

be whatever you want." So, I told her to

book this onsen in the middle of nowhere

in Japan that was absolutely beautiful.

And that's where I was going to ask her

to marry me. But, [music] I even planned

on getting a car and traveling all

across Japan doing a huge road trip.

Look at that, our car's over there.

>> [music]

>> Let's freaking go.

>> Woah, it has it has some power, a little

bit.

>> [music]

>> We're getting closer to Fuji.

>> Look over there, looks like there's a

floating mountain in the distance.

>> Wow.

>> And around this time, that's when we're

going to drive out to the onsen. But the

problem was, when I asked Hannah about

what day we checked in, she never even

booked it, and that's when my plan

completely fell apart. So, the place

that I was going to propose to her now

was just gone. Now, I had a ring in my

backpack, I was in the middle of Japan,

and I still had no idea where I was

going to ask her to marry me. So, for

the next few days, we just decided to

drive around Japan and just enjoy

ourselves.

>> [music]

>> Oh my god.

>> Woah! Through the waterfall. That's

[music] crazy, actually.

>> It looks so pretty. I wish that this was

like a hot spring.

>> Well, it's the cold spring instead.

All right. So, now we're at a deer park

in Nara. There is a bunch of deer just

out here, and people are just petting

them.

But there's literally just deer in every

direction. Look at that.

>> [music]

>> All the deer over there.

>> [music]

>> And the entire time I was traveling, I

still had the ring in my backpack. I

wanted there to at least be some sort of

photographer, [snorts] but at this point

I realized it was about me and her and

our moment. [music] It's not about

catching it and it being perfect, as

long as we have like a video. So, I kind

of decided to just travel around Japan

and just [music] wait for a good moment

to show up. And on top of that, I still

haven't even asked her dad for

permission yet. Then, we were driving

through this prefecture called [music]

Gunma, where we were searching for all

the roads in an anime I loved called

Initial [music] D. And Hannah literally

blew up in the passenger seat. "Oh my

god, babe, babe, look at this. Look at

this park, it's so beautiful. Oh my god,

we have to stop. Stop now. Stop, stop

now." That's literally what she said.

Now, my thought process was, "Wow, she

really likes this park. Let's stop and

take a look at it." So, we got out of

the car, started walking around the

park, and Hannah just started filming

[music] everything.

>> Wow. Oh my gosh, this is so sick.

>> Now, the crazy thing is is [music]

during this entire trip, this was the

only place that actually looked exactly

like she planned it to look or how I

secretly wanted it to look. It was

quiet, peaceful, there was no one there,

and perfectly so unexpected. Now, while

Hannah was filming her footage, I

realized this was a perfect moment, but

I needed to get back to the car and grab

the ring, and I

needed to call her dad still. So, after

hanging out in the park for a little bit

and getting shots of Hannah, she said

she needed to go back to the car and

grab something. And right then, I knew

that was my chance. So, we went back to

the car. I told her to give me a second

at the car that I had to grab something,

and that's when I grabbed my mic, threw

it in my pocket, grabbed my phone,

dialed in her dad's phone number, and

called him for his permission. So, after

I got his approval, I walked over the

park and started to get ready.

>> I chose this park just cuz it looks

beautiful and I don't know why, I just

feel like being a little more private

with it. I don't even have a

photographer here, but I'm just filming

it, and I just want to be with her.

This is important to me.

>> So, once I was fully prepared, I started

nudging her and her filming in a

specific direction.

>> I like this way. I like this way. That

sand note is the same way we did.

>> Oh, yeah, yeah.

>> I mean, that's my opinion.

Do you want to get a photo under the

same tree?

>> I want to take a video with you,

actually.

>> Yeah, where at? You set it up. I want

I don't want to be gay now.

And so the fact that we just drove on it

is so cool.

I also wanted to ask you something.

Now we get to do next things in our

lives.

minute. I just called him.

>> He said, "Yeah." No, he's like, "No."

And I just did it anyway. [laughter]

That'd be so funny.

>> It took me like an hour and a half to

make a decision [snorts] on a ring, but

this is the one I had decided on.

>> Would you like what's the inspiration?

>> [snorts]

>> I want to hear about it.

>> Where has this [laughter] been hiding in

your stuff?

>> It was in my backpack.

>> This is so crazy.

>> Right?

>> Well, for me, it I it like when I was

here, I was like, "Oh, this is a really

good spot." And I was like, "I don't

know. I'm really I'm really scared."

That's the best part is you totally

thought we were just taking a video for

you.

>> This is actually my favorite my dream

engagement for the fact that like I

would not have wanted it in front of

like a zillion people.

>> know. That's why that's why I was like,

"Oh, this is a really good spot. There's

nobody here."

>> No.

>> She's going to freak out. Is that my

brother now?

>> No.

>> Oh [laughter] my How long have you been

planning this?

>> I don't know, like 3 weeks.

>> That's so cool.

>> Who said anything like that?

>> And what made you think Japan?

>> It was coming up.

>> Were you nervous on your trip on this

trip?

>> Uh no, cuz most of it I wasn't planning

it.

>> [laughter]

>> Cuz I was planning at the start and then

I was like, "Oh, it's definitely not

cherry blossom season." And then you

couldn't get that on Sunday cuz we're

going to go that one Sunday.

>> Oh.

>> That's where I was going to go.

And I was like, "Oh, great.

Canceled. Everything's canceled."

>> I honestly never thought that this day

would come as in like I just never

knew what it would feel like.

>> Time to turn it around. How does it feel

like?

>> like I just never knew what this would

feel like. I always saw everyone else

getting engaged and I just never was

like, "Oh, me."

>> Do you like it?

>> I love it.

>> One out of 10 on the ring. What's your

favorite thing about it and your least

favorite thing about it? Do you feel

like you wish that I was this tall?

>> [laughter]

>> Yes.

is how tiny I actually am.

>> Oh my god.

>> So, what are your plans now going

forward?

>> I want to become a housewife and

stay-at-home mom.

>> What?

first video where I had you make me a

sandwich as my assistant.

Go make me a sandwich. Make a smiley

>> No.

lick their butt holes, so I don't want

your butt hole dog hands on my sandwich.

It's nice having a hot assistant that

does what you tell her to do.

to keep doing push-ups. She has to do
