13 de julio de 2026
Welcome directors and teachers of the
educational centers of the
diversified cycle of the level. I
welcome you to this informational meeting
about the evaluation process for
graduating class 2.
Eud Montúfal, and I am currently in charge
of the DIGEDUCA directorate, and it is
a pleasure for me to welcome you,
especially because in 2026
we are celebrating 20 years of
conducting standardized evaluations
in Guatemala. That is, for 20
years information has been generated
from the
standardized assessments that have been
applied to students
completing the diversified cycle of
middle school and this has allowed us to
have information and indicators on the
performance of students in both
mathematics and reading.
This takes advantage of the fact that within the process
for issuing degrees and diplomas
there is an obligation for all
young people to take the test that
the Ministry of Education makes in order for
their degree and
diploma to be printed.
So we appreciate your participation in
this process, we appreciate your effort in
fulfilling your responsibility to
register your students in the
last stage or grade of
diversified education so that they can participate
in this evaluation process. I
also extend my thanks to the technical team at
Dijeduca, who will be
presenting the guidelines and
recommendations for this process. I
welcome them again and leave
the floor for each
of them to introduce themselves. Thank you.
Good morning to everyone who is with us
. We extend our warmest greetings and
our gratitude for your participation in
this meeting. My name is Jorge Urrea and I
am accompanied by my colleague Mayira Chacón
from the execution sub-directorate, as well as
Ana Isabel Pocón and Davida
Echeverría from the development sub-directorate
of the DIG.
Today we will be sharing with
you important aspects and
reinforcing key points related
to the proper application of the
evaluation in your
educational establishments.
And as you know, the evaluation is
carried out annually in a virtual format
and consists of solving two
tests, one aimed at evaluating
reading comprehension and the other focused on
learning in the curriculum area of
mathematics.
Additionally, at the beginning, students are given
a questionnaire on
associated factors whose purpose is to
identify the elements that influence
the outcome of
mathematical learning and the development of
electoral competence. This evaluation is carried
out at the national level and is
directly linked to the issuance of
degrees or diplomas. Therefore,
student participation is
mandatory.
The primary objective
of this meeting is to provide
you, directors, with the necessary guidelines and
directives so that you can
prepare efficiently and in an
organized manner for the
graduating student evaluation process. thus ensuring
effective planning.
How should they organize themselves for the
evaluation?
Here we will show you everything you
need to know about how to organize yourself
before, during and after the
evaluation. For establishments
that have a
computer lab, it is important to take
the following into consideration.
Verify
how many machines meet the
required version of Windows 10 or 11. Confirm
that your internet service is stable.
Make sure the computers
have a camera, as this
is an essential requirement.
Without this requirement, they cannot be evaluated.
In the case of establishments that
will ask students to bring their
personal computers, they must
verify in advance that those
already have Windows
10 or 11 installed because the application does not
work with other versions prior
to Windows. And if that's the case, the students
won't be able to carry out their operation. We
also have the option that if
the desktop computers don't
have a camera installed,
you can also add an external camera
, right? That's important,
informing students in advance that they
must present a photo ID on the day of the evaluation,
which could be a
school ID, driver's license, or DPI if
the student is of legal age. If they do not
have a school ID card, the
establishment must provide them with a
professional one with a photograph.
This will make it easier for the student to
complete the process. The
student must also be provided with
their personal code and date of
birth, as
registered in the CIRE, since these are the
credentials they will use to access the
evaluation platform.
If last year you assessed your
students using
your school's computer lab machines
, you
need to uninstall the
previous application in order to install and use
the one for this year.
At this link you can find the
updated version and you can also
access the Diguca website. In the
student section, you will
find instructions for downloading
and installing the assessment application. In
other words, you have to
uninstall
one first and then use the new one to
complete your evaluation process.
Now we will look at
the establishment's evaluation process
.
It will assign a teacher or person in charge of the
technology area to accompany and provide the
necessary support that the
students need.
Verify that the student has
their personal code on hand. date of
birth
before starting your
evaluation process, because without this data you will not be able to
access the platform and
complete your process. Make sure
all students have their
photo ID.
Verify that the student also
has a blank sheet of paper and a pencil
to be able to perform the
math procedures during the assessment.
We will also verify that all
students have completed the process and generated their
corresponding certificate
at the end of the process.
Request the
evaluation certificate from each student.
At the end of the assessment, make sure that
students have logged out of
the platform and also logged out
of the computer, especially if
other students will be using that computer
immediately afterwards to be assessed.
It is important to mention that as
directors you must keep
accurate track of which students have already taken
the assessment and which ones are still
pending.
This is because some
establishments have contacted the
office, either in person or
by phone,
to inquire how many of their
students have already been evaluated.
However, we believe that this control
corresponds directly to the
administration of the establishment,
so it is essential to require
and verify that each
student sends their certificate
once the evaluation is completed, in order
to maintain an up-to-date record. They
must also keep a record of the
number of students who, for
any reason, did not take the
assessment and be ready to re-
enroll them when
registration opens, so that they can be assessed
in the late assessment.
To follow up on the points to be
discussed in this meeting, we now show
the evaluation dates and times.
As you can see, the evaluation will
take place from June 1st to
August 31st, which represents a
wide 92-day application window.
The schedule will be as follows. June 1st will be
the only day the platform will be
available, from 10
a.m. to 8 p.m.
But from June 2nd until
August 31st, the hours will be from 7
a.m. to 8 p.m. Therefore,
students will only be able to log in and
begin their assessment within
that time frame.
If a student enters before 8,
for example, at 8:15,
they will be able to continue with the assessment and
finish it without problems.
However, if any student enters
at 8 o'clock, it will no longer be possible to
start the evaluation.
However, for educational centers
with night classes, the platform
will be available until 10
pm. This schedule applies only
to establishments that
registered students on that day
in order to facilitate the development of
the evaluation according to their
opening hours.
As directors, you have the
authority to define the dates,
times, and organization of the
evaluation groups, taking into account the
technological conditions of your
establishment.
The scheduling of the evaluation is the
responsibility of each director. It is not a
decision that
Dijeduca, the departmental management,
or the supervisors have to make. It
is also important to mention that it
is not mandatory to evaluate all
students on the same day or at the same
time.
Each establishment can organize the
application of the evaluation in the way
that best suits its possibilities
and available resources.
I want to share with you some
alternatives that we have compiled from
different ways in which you have been
evaluating your students.
The intention is that these experiences
can serve as support or an example to
other establishments, either because they
have worked well for them or because they
represent viable options that could be
adapted to their needs and
available resources. I'm
sharing this example so you
can get an idea of how to
organize yourself when you have a
large number of students and little
equipment available, and so you can see that it
is possible to carry out the evaluation in an
organized and effective way.
Here's an example.
One establishment has 150
registered students, but does not have
enough computer equipment to
perform the evaluation
simultaneously.
As an alternative, support was requested from
students and teachers to identify
who could lend a laptop for
the process. At the end of the consultation,
only five
computers were collected.
With that amount of equipment, the
establishment can organize
evaluation days in two daily shifts. For
example, a first shift at 7
a.m., a second shift at 10
a.m. This allows five
students to be evaluated in the first shift, five
students in the second shift, for
a total of 10 students
evaluated per day. Therefore, to
evaluate the 150 students
will require approximately 15
working days out of the 92 days available to
carry out the evaluation.
The establishment can be organized
according to its academic activities. You can
conduct the evaluation
continuously, take the full 15 days
to evaluate your students, or
intersperse the evaluation. For
example, one day yes, one day no, one
week yes, one week no. But the
important and fundamental thing is not to
exceed the established deadline, which
is August 31st.
We also have other alternatives for
evaluating students.
One of them is the internet cafe or
computer academies.
Internet cafes have been a
very viable resource that many principals have
used to assess their students
and have yielded very good results.
Therefore, they can continue working this
way if it works for them in their
establishment. The
only important thing to keep in mind is
that if you will be using the same
internet cafe where
evaluations were carried out last year, you should
verify that the previous application
has been removed from the computers, as it
sometimes remains installed. It is
recommended that you request in advance
that they install the version corresponding
to this year.
Another alternative has been to be evaluated at
another educational establishment.
In some cases, due to the proximity between
establishments or the good
communication and support between directors, it has been
possible to coordinate spaces and equipment
to facilitate the evaluation.
They can approach them and request
this support. This has been another
alternative that some directors have
used and it has worked
positively for them.
We take this opportunity to thank
and acknowledge the directors who provide
this support, lending their
computer labs to other establishments
that do not have the
necessary technological resources. This type of
collaboration and solidarity between
educational centers contributes significantly
to the successful development of the
evaluation process. There
are also EVAs. These are
virtual learning environments that
exist in some municipalities of the
departments that I think you
have heard about and that are
fully prepared to lend the
spaces. Once they have been notified and
informed in advance.
If the educational establishment has a
computer and an
internet connection, but no
camera, it is essential to
contact Digeduca to coordinate
support and follow-up actions
during the application at the
establishment. Without this coordination, it
is not possible to carry out the evaluation.
For this you can contact
my colleague Jorge
Urrea directly via email. Her email is
jurrea@mineduc.gov.gt
and my email is Mayira Chacón
mchaconh@mineduc.gov.gt.
You will write to us reporting
that you don't have a camera, and
we will respond and
ask you for some information.
It is important to mention that each case
will be evaluated individually,
taking into account the
particular conditions of each establishment,
in order to provide the best
possible alternative without affecting the
development of the process. There you can see
the emails, you can copy them or
take a picture of them so that
those
establishments that do not have a camera can contact us
.
The evaluation lasts
approximately 3 hours and is
distributed as follows.
First, the student will answer a
questionnaire of associated factors that is
roughly a 20-
minute sentence.
Next, they will take the
reading test, which they have a maximum of 60 minutes
to complete.
Then they will take the
math test, which they have a maximum of 90
minutes to complete.
Finally, there is a final survey, it will
take approximately 5 minutes to
answer in order to then generate your
evaluation certificate.
To ensure the validity of the
results, the
following actions are prohibited during the
evaluation. Please,
directors, take this into account so
you can share it with your students.
First, they cannot use other
electronic devices or calculators
to perform mathematical calculations outside
of the platform. They
also cannot open one or more
windows on the computer while
they are evaluating.
Using your cell phone to make calls,
answer or send messages, or as support
for solving tests is
prohibited.
Asking other people for help to
answer the tests,
obstructing or interrupting the camera.
Copying or sharing the
assessment questions with third parties.
Taking photographs or
screenshots.
Use any means to conceal the
face such as caps, hoods or sunglasses
.
And students are not allowed to
use headphones either.
There are important aspects that we want to
mention and remind you of.
In case of any
technical problems with the equipment
during the evaluation,
the person in charge of the technology area or the
responsible teacher must provide the
corresponding solution. It is the
director's responsibility to guarantee
adequate assessment conditions
in their establishment, as well as to ensure
that 100% of
graduating students are assessed.
It is recommended to check
the students' date of birth to
confirm how it is registered with the
City.
Also, Mr. Director, you must
ensure that students
clearly understand the evaluation process and that they
have read the instructions provided to
them to learn about the
procedure and the recommendations
detailed here. This information
can be found on the
GEDUCA website in the student section. And
if you, as a director, have any questions
and would like to consult them, you can also
do so on the Dijeduca website in
the directors section.
During the application window,
the evaluation PBX, which is
22 36 108, will be enabled.
The extensions, according to the
hours of operation, are as follows.
From Monday to Friday, extensions 420 and 421 will be available from 7 a.m. to 3
p.m.
From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.,
extensions 422
and 423 will be available.
These extensions will also be available on Saturdays and Sundays for
you to make your inquiries.
Uh, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on
Saturday, extensions 420 and 421 will be available. On
Saturdays and Sundays, from 7 a.m.
to 10 p.m.,
extensions 424 and 425 will be available
so that you can be assisted
with all the inquiries you need to
make.
Now I'll give my colleague David
Echeverría some time, who will explain in
detail how to use the
assessment platform.
Good morning. Um, I want to give a
special greeting today to all the
directors who are
joining us on this broadcast. My name
is David Echeverría, and today I'll be
sharing with
you the section related to the
Graduandos 2026 assessment platform.
Over the next few minutes, we'll
review the basic
system requirements and some
important recommendations, the installation and
login process, and also a short
demonstration of how to complete the
assessment. So without further ado,
let's begin.
Okay, let's see what the
requirements of the evaluation system are. It is
important that we meet the requirements
because this will allow the
student or the person being
evaluated to have a good
user experience, it will be compatible
with the computer on the platform and
obviously the platform will have
better performance. Well, first it is
important to verify that the equipment
meets the minimum requirements for
the evaluation to work
correctly. For this we need a
desktop or laptop computer,
a webcam (which can be integrated
or external), and a compatible operating system,
which must be Windows 10,
Windows 11, MacOS, or Linux. It is also
important to have the evaluation application installed
and a
stable internet connection, preferably at
least 1 megabit per second per
computer. The idea is to review this in
advance to avoid misunderstandings on
the day of the evaluation. Before we
evaluate, we must ensure that
the computers the students will
use meet these requirements.
There are some
recommendations that can be
very helpful in preparing before starting the evaluation.
Number one, check your
internet connection. This should be dedicated and
exclusively for the evaluation. It is not
recommended that other people connected to the same network be watching videos or using
social media during the evaluation
.
It is also recommended to disable
automatic updates. In the case
of Windows 10 and Windows 11, I believe there is
an option in the
updates that says to disable it
for a week.
You must first install the
evaluation program. When students
enter the assessment, the program must already
be installed; it should not be
installed during the assessment or
the student should be waiting while it
is being installed. And if we have
any previous version, including
last year's, it is recommended
to uninstall it because this way we
ensure that we will have the
correct version for this year. We also
want to share some
recommendations that are important for
the evaluation.
The camera must be integrated or external.
Using a cell phone
as a camera is not recommended. This has caused us problems
in some cases where the screen is not visible
or may generate an
alert during the evaluation.
Furthermore, only
authorized operating systems should be used, right?
Uh, Windows 10 or Windows 11. If someone
tries to do it on Windows 7 or Windows 8,
the evaluation application will not
be compatible or will not be able to be
installed.
Uh, the use of
modified versions of the
Windows 10, Windows 11, and
Windows Lite operating systems is not permitted. Well, I know that
in some cases it has worked for them,
but in others it hasn't. Therefore, it is not
recommended; you should carry out
your tests if you have any of these
versions before
the students enroll.
Now let's look at the
installation process.
The installation manuals can be
found on the Dijeduca website.
Here I am showing you the directors' section,
and by entering the graduates' option
you will be able to see the
corresponding documentation, including
the manuals.
We will perform the
installation process from a Windows 11 operating system.
We must enter the URL app gu-
dijeduca. We press
enter. In Windows
, it will give us two options to
install the application. We have the
Microsoft Store, or if we don't have access to
the Microsoft Store, we need to download the
installer.
Okay, let's click on the first
option.
A box will appear indicating that
the Microsoft
Store will not open.
And here we just click on install.
In some systems it says get, here it
says install. Then, we click
install and the process will begin. It
downloads and installs automatically from here,
so we should wait a
few minutes for it to finish.
While installing, we're going to make an
important mention here that when you enter this
URL on another operating system, for
example, on MacOS or Linux, it will
automatically download, since it
detects the computer's operating system
and depending on that system,
the installer will be downloaded.
All of this is detailed in the manuals
that I know will be published.
Once the installation process is complete
, the open button will appear
. We can open the program from here
or we can look for it in the
programs we have installed
on the computer. Let's
The first time we open it, it will
ask us for some permissions. Therefore,
we must accept all the permissions it
indicates, otherwise the program will not work
correctly.
If we did everything correctly,
a screen should appear
indicating the type of evaluation we
need to perform.
As you can see, the
installation process is extremely simple; you just
have to follow the steps in
the manuals until the
installation is complete.
Okay, after installing the program
we'll log in using the
corresponding credentials.
For the evaluation of graduating students, we must
enter the graduating student. We
click on it.
To log in, you will be asked for the
student's personal code and
date of birth.
It is important to have a list from
CIRE in order to support the
students. The date of birth must
be exactly as it is registered in the CIRE. That's why it
's important to have the list.
If a student asks the
principal, "Look, I can't get
in," the principal needs to
check the CIE list and
see what date of
birth the student is registered with
and if their personal code is correct. We
have had cases where the date of
birth is incorrectly registered in the
CRE, so you must enter it exactly as it
appears in the CRE. If they made a mistake, they
can fix it later.
So I'm going to give an example here.
We're going to set it to 1/1/2001 and
start the
graduate evaluation.
Once inside, a
welcome screen for the
2026 graduate assessment will appear. We click on
next
and first it will perform a series of
validations, which we must complete.
We must have a good internet connection,
the equipment must be plugged into the
power outlet or have more than 20%
battery, we must
not have other monitors connected to the
computer and we must not have other
applications open. If we fail to meet
any of these requirements, it will appear here
and will not allow us to continue until
all conditions are met.
Since I meet all the requirements, I'm going to click
next. Once inside the
assessment program,
the tests assigned to us will appear.
We must perform them in the order they
appear. They will be enabled one
by one. In this case, since I am
logging in with a
test user, I have everything enabled, but
students must
first complete associated factors,
then reading will be enabled, when they
finish reading they will be enabled
mathematics and then the final survey.
Now we're going to do a
quick demonstration of how a student responds
within the platform. We will be able to
see the questions and the
answer options and how to answer them.
To demonstrate, we will
access the math test.
When we log in, a
screen will appear indicating that
before starting we will be asked for
camera access and permission to share
our entire desktop. Then we click
on understand the above and to start
the verification. The first step will be
that it will request access to the camera.
We click on activate camera.
We will receive
a permit. We must accept it. The
same applies to the microphone. We click
accept.
Now the screen will appear for
configuring our camera, microphone, and
speaker.
In the first option we must
select the camera we need to
use. This is in the case where we have, for
example, a laptop and another
external camera connected. It will
appear here, so we must
select which one we are going to use. Then it will
ask us to select the microphone. It is
important that we select the
microphone and speaker for our computer
. We should probably
keep the volume moderate during
the evaluation because
some alerts are handled during the evaluation.
So when we click here,
a pin will appear indicating that the
speaker is working correctly.
And as the instructions here say, we should
be calm, with good lighting
and a good internet connection. If we
have any problems with the
camera, it won't let us continue from here
. Then, we click on
next
and now it will ask us to
take photos of the
different profiles, so we follow
the instructions they give us. One
photo of the right side,
one photo of the front side, and another photo of the
left side.
Once we have taken the three
photographs, the
following button will be enabled. We click and now it will
ask us to share the screen. We click
on share screen.
Now it will ask us for an
identification document.
The identification document can
be the student ID card. If
they had DPI they could also use it.
If the establishment does not handle any
card, it can give you a
temporary card. Then, they will have to
display it on the screen, just like
mine,
and take the photograph.
Then, if the photo turned out well, we
leave that one photo and click on
next. We will see a message
indicating that everything is ready.
Click next.
We accept the terms and conditions that
state that all information
is confidential and
will not be used for any other purpose than to
generate inputs for
decision-making that contribute to
improving
educational delivery in the classroom. Following.
The general instructions will appear
. Here it tells us how
the test will appear. Keep.
We can do some tests, save.
And next.
So, this is an example of
mathematics. Let's click
next.
When we enter the test we will be able to
see the questions in this way.
We will have a bar here that tells us
what number we are on, the time we have
left
on the question, and the
answer options.
This is what appears when we are being
monitored.
This is a message that applies if our
internet is stable. So
let's answer.
This is an example of 10 questions.
We'll answer quickly just to
familiarize you with the platform,
and
if an image appears, you can
click on it to enlarge it.
If we try to
exit the test,
a warning will appear there.
Because I'm sharing my screen,
these warnings are appearing.
Let's click here.
Let's continue.
This is just a small demonstration of
how the student will see the
questions. We also have a button that
tells us to skip and leave it for
last.
So,
now let's move on to the next
part.
Now we're going to look at the
evaluation certificate process.
When we finish the assessments,
a summary of all the
assessments we did will appear, along with the
start and end times.
The certificate will appear to us in this
way; it consists of a QR code and the
photos we took at the beginning.
Then, we click on download
PDF.
When you download a PDF, you will see a
print option depending on
your operating system. So,
we're going to select that we
want to
print it as a PDF. We
print it, select
where we are going to save it, and give it a
name. Constancy.
Let's use, for example, the student's code
. At 1 2 3 BC. And we click
save.
And that's it. It is important that the certificate be
kept by both the director and the
student.
With that, we have finished what
is consistency.
And well, with this we conclude the section
related to the
2026 graduating class assessment platform. Now I will hand it over
to my next
colleague, who will continue with the
following topics in this presentation.
Thank you so much. It is
a pleasure to share with you the
information regarding the evaluation
of students with
special educational needs.
As you know, the Deemalteco educational system
is characterized by the
implementation of programs and services
aimed at providing care to
students with special educational needs
.
The Ministry of Education
has agreed with the policy and regulations
on access to education for the
population with NF.
It also establishes the
technical and administrative procedures that must be
implemented to serve this
population
within the national education system.
Uh, let's talk about the date
of the evaluation.
The date assigned for the evaluation of
students with NE will be on
Tuesday, September 1st.
from 10 am onwards to
8 pm. This means that
students can enter from
10 am and finish at 8
pm. In other words, we are not indicating
a specific time, that they have to
enter at 10, but rather during the
student's school day.
The monitoring is done
on the platform, as we will not have
staff going to each
establishment, and that is why this
monitoring will be done
virtually.
The distribution of the tests, well,
like any evaluation, has a time limit,
but
this does not apply to students with special educational needs.
It begins with the questionnaire on
associated factors,
continues with reading, then
mathematics, and finally
a survey is conducted. We do
not have a specific schedule for all these activities
. Each
student can take their own time.
Now I will talk to you about the
tutor's activities.
The person who will support the student
must perform the following
actions. Accompany the student
throughout the entire evaluation process.
The tutor must follow the steps indicated
in the instructions to perform the
evaluation,
install the application, open the
application, enter with personal code
and date of birth of the student,
accept the requested permissions,
activate the camera and share the
screen.
The tutor must also select the
questionnaire or test to be taken.
In some cases, support
students in filling in the
options according to the answers given by
the student.
This is in relation to
visual impairments. Hand problems prevent them from
using a mouse.
Tutors cannot help the
student find the
correct answer or solve the test.
For questions or inquiries regarding the
evaluation of students with NE, please call
2236
1000
extension 310 and ask for
Ana Isabel.
We recognize and appreciate your strong
commitment to educational development.
