And with this, we open
today's rally
in support of Ukraine.
Today we want to show you
that Ukraine
is not just about war. We want to
show you how wonderful
Ukrainian art is, even when it is
created during wartime. How beautiful
Ukrainian songs sound.
And that's what we want to
show people in front of our National Theatre.
Because while the great Russian culture is
currently only killing people and
destroying everything, we and the Ukrainians are trying
to create beauty.
Therefore,
we will first sing the
Ukrainian and German national anthems together.
Yes, as I said, the focus of our rally
today is on culture.
One thing is that Russia claims
there is no Ukraine, no
Ukrainian culture, and no Ukrainian
nation.
Ukraine has
thoroughly refuted these propaganda claims.
I believe that by now the whole
world knows that Ukraine exists, and
today we want to
show Munich once again what a wonderful culture
Ukraine has.
and want to showcase the beauty of culture as a counterpoint
to Russian aggression
. Thank you very much
.

Did anyone even manage to
get into German?
We can't do it.
Not enough, not enough,
those who have exchanged
the pen, the
cooking spoon or the textbook for a
weapon in the name of democracy, freedom and self-determination. We are
not just talking about professional soldiers here, we are talking
about thousands of volunteers
who are fighting for their country and our
Europe. And for all these
people, and especially for the
fallen, I now ask for a moment of
silence. There is also a sign
in the Ukranian region, both of which are
also civil. After my visit, I'll go to another

Thank you.
Then we begin today's demonstration with
Munich's cultural icon, Christian
Springer, a wonderful
comedian, author and fantastic
person who always
comes to the aid of those who need help.
Many, many thanks,
dear friends from Ukraine,
dear people of Munich,
dear assembled guests, dear people.
Yesterday,
12 years ago, a plane took off from Amsterdam
.
298
people were on their way to
Malaysia.
In the afternoon, this aircraft crossed
eastern Ukraine
and was shot down.
The bodies were scattered over an area of more than 35 square kilometers.
One day later, 12
years ago today, Putin told the world press that
it was the Ukrainians. We Russians were
n't responsible. We Russians would
never do something like that. Dear friends, the whole world
now knows the truth. Putin
lies and denies it to this day. It was
demonstrably the 53rd
Air Defense Brigade of the Russian
Armed Forces. It was and is a
war crime. It is a mass murder. Back then
in July 2014, just as
today, what Putin is doing
to the families, the women, the elderly
and the children in Ukraine is a mass murder. What
Putin needs is not a press conference
in the Kremlin, but a solitary confinement cell in
prison forever.
Why do we often hesitate so long and so
intensely in Germany?
Here in Germany, we're rambling on about drone defense
for Berlin, Iron Dome for Germany,
more tanks for ourselves, because we
need to protect ourselves. Why haven't we
in Germany realized long ago that we are
already being protected, namely by
Ukraine? It should say, thank you
Ukraine, more support for
Ukraine.
I may say a few more words about
culture, art, and also sports.
That makes me very happy, because I am
a political cabaret artist and
author by profession. How do I make a living? About
writing books, including books about Ukraine,
in which I am allowed to write whatever I
want. I make a living from a cabaret show
on television, where I can say whatever I
want. I make a living from performing in the
theater, where I can say what I
want. I live off artistic freedom, off
freedom of expression. That does
n't exist under Putin. One must not
shake Putin's hand. You mustn't give him an inch
. Wherever Putin is,
not only human lives are destroyed,
but also freedom and art. and the
culture.
One of
the greatest German poets,
perhaps the greatest, is Friedrich
Schiller. He wrote a play
about a liberation struggle.
It's called William Tell and it takes place in
Switzerland a long time ago.
And in it is the famous sentence:
"Soon we must help.
It could happen to any of us in the same year
. That is the message. 200
years old and still
valid today. Help, help, help Ukraine
against the criminal Putin.
Friedrich Schiller's call for
solidarity.
This solidarity is
why Adolf Hitler banned Wilhelm Tell
. But not only him, that's how they
all are, the dictators, the tyrants, the
criminals. No freedom for
art. But we will not
allow that, not yesterday, not today, and
not tomorrow, because thoughts are
free.
The people,
the people in Kyiv know this.
Kyiv, a city that
was already a center for many peoples when here
in Munich, on this square where we are
now standing, there was no opera, no
theater, no restaurant, nothing at all
when Kyiv was already a
cultural capital over 1000
years ago. Back then, there were bushes and bears,
trees and wild boars here. We can
learn a lot from you. Thank you, Kyiv, for being
Munich's twin city. Thank you,
Ukraine.
Putin wants annihilation." of free
art and free culture, and he can look back on
a long history of suppressing
art and culture in his country
.
A few examples: May 1876.
Alexander I banned the
Ukrainian language, then the
Lenin Library in Moscow, containing
300,000 books, 600,000 periodicals, and 1
million newspapers, was inaccessible and
forbidden to scholars and
students, or deemed looted art. In 1998,
the Duma under Putin decided: looted
art, looted culture will
not be returned, ever to anyone. Freedom
of the press—this is where Russia ranks
last, at 160th out of 180
countries. Add to that the persecution,
arrest, torture, and murder of
thousands of artists.
Here in our country, only [ __ ] Riot is
known. Thank God, they are courageous
women, but there are so many more. Putin is responsible for
all this destruction of culture
. Is this seriously what we
want for Ukraine? No.
Putin out of Ukraine, and out of the Kremlin
anyway.
A
to Finally, one last sentence about sport. It's
also a part of a people's culture. I was a
small child in Munich in 1972.
That's when I
saw Ukrainians and Russians for the first time in my life. It
was a football match in Munich. It was
the inauguration of the world-famous Munich
Olympic Stadium
.
It was the first match ever played there,
and it was Germany against
the Soviet Union.
It was called a friendly match, but
it was a misunderstanding,
because Germany was playing a
friendly against the team
of a state that, at the same time, was wreaking havoc
in Ukraine in 1972. Arbitrary
arrests, arbitrary dismissals,
arbitrary house searches.
Hundreds of trials without
justice, but with brutal
verdicts. But I only knew that much
later. But I watched the football match
on television.
Germany won 4-1. The Soviet Union
lost, and so it will be this time too
. Moscow will not win. It's been
12 years now, 12 years too many.
Putin, give back the Ukrainian children
. Putin, stop the mass murder
of civilians. Putin, out of
Ukraine! Long live Ukraine!
Thank you!
[Cheers]
[Applause]
Thank you so, so much, dear
Christian Springer. A very, very
powerful speech, and
all the topics addressed were true words.
We thank you for your solidarity with
Ukraine and, in general, for your
solidarity with the people, because Putin
is the opposite—a
misanthrope—
and you, Christian, are always on the
side of the people. Thank you for that.
Thank you. Applause again for
Christian Springer. Next up
at the microphone is a
Ukrainian activist, our dear
Victoria. She will briefly
introduce herself and her topic. Please applaud.
Thank you so much for coming in such large numbers.
Today, I am the topic of my
sister. She lives in Ukraine and
is waiting for her boyfriend, the Assof
fighter, who has been a prisoner of war in Russia for four years
.
And here is a letter to you, the
international community.
Bdan has been a prisoner of war in Russia for four years and
two months
. This year,
he was unlawfully sentenced by a Russian court
to 18 years in a
penal colony with a strict regime.
Convicted. The only reason is
that Sasovima is classified as a terrorist organization in Russia
. These men
fulfilled their military duty and defended their
homeland against an aggressor
.
Only with the start of the trial were
we able to
exchange letters.
Along with the letters, we were able to
send him some photos of ourselves. In
his replies, he wrote that he had
started drawing so he would
n't forget the features of my face.
Later, we managed to arrange for
some personal belongings to be given to him
, including a sketchbook and
pencils, which he himself
had requested. Since then, he has been drawing.
He even works without an eraser now because
it damages the paper. He
only uses it to lighten certain areas
. This fills me with great
admiration. Drawing helps him escape
the daily grind of memory
, the daily grind of prison,
and immerse himself in another world for a moment.
As a child, Banan drew caricatures,
but
he was never able to truly develop his artistic talent because he dedicated his
entire youth to protecting his country
. I remember
how much he used to enjoy coming to the theater where
I work.
He He loved performances and always had
an eye for beauty, and
he retained this eye despite everything, despite the
siege of Mariupel, despite the cave
of captivity, the transports, the
mistreatment,
the hunger, and the torture. Bdan is
not a terrorist as the Russian
authorities call him. He is a
sensitive, creative person with a
rich inner world. A person who
wants to live freely and create his art. Instead, he sits behind
bars, deprived of his rights and his
freedom. Later, he drew
his mother with his niece, as well as
his sister. These portraits can also be
seen here. He
will be moved again in the next few days
. We don't yet know exactly where
.
People convicted according to this article
are
usually taken deep into the interior of Russia
, where they are supposed to serve their unlawfully
imposed sentences.
But then he dreams of organizing
an exhibition of his
drawings after his release.
He also wants to become a tattoo artist. I believe
with all my heart that this day will
come, and as soon as
possible. Until then, you have the
opportunity to take a small to
get to know a small part of his art. Please don't
forget our prisoners of war
and those unlawfully convicted.
They are waiting for our freedom. Slava
Ukraini.
Thank you so much,
dear friends. Thank you
all for being here.
Every single one of you counts, and we
are grateful for everyone who
continues to support Ukraine and doesn't give up. I
would also like to welcome Markus Hüsmann
from the CSU. Thank you for
being here, and also our district
representative Matthias Bonnigut
from the SPD, who constantly
supports us and also
travels to Ukraine regularly to provide humanitarian aid
. Thank you all for
coming today.

Before we continue with the program, I'll tell you before we
continue with the program that you
can prepare yourself. There is
an ongoing one, there always is There are more
actions for Ukraine
taking place worldwide, and we will be
participating in one of them today.
I'll explain the
details later, but I'd like to
ask you, if you
have a key with you—a house key, a car key, anything
legal—please have it ready. Thank you
.
Thanks, Nico.
Um,
we're here today, and
we actually wanted to talk about art and
culture
and our prisoners of war,
and I'll
talk about that now.
But first, I wanted to
say to everyone around me, this is wonderful Ukrainian
art, and wonderful
Ukrainian music is playing. Enjoy it.
We will continue to make art and music
. We will continue to fight.
And regarding what's currently happening in Ukraine
, you see in the news,
you see many people here with
cardboard boxes.
That's democracy.
That's what we have here. That's what
we have in Ukraine
and want to protect. That's one of the
many reasons why
we can't
and mustn't let Russia conquer us again, because
we are free people.
And if our government, which we
elected, does something democratically that...
Those who did
n't like what was done, we take to the
streets and speak out. We
want the current
Defense Minister Feder to be given the
opportunity to complete his crucial
reforms to modernize
our defense, to continue in the position
he has held for the
past six months.
That is why people are taking
to the streets. They want the
hope we have seen in the last six
months, the strategy
we have seen in the last six months
, to continue. And that's why it's all about: Safe democracy.
Safe Ukraine.
Safe democracy. Safe Ukraine. Safe
democracy. Safe Ukraine.
Democracy. Safe Ukraine.

There is
a global campaign for Ukraine

because people are the most important thing in
the whole thing. It's not just
about land, about the earth, it's not just about
democracy and freedom. Without the
people, none of this is anything, and we
have to take care of the people.
There's the Center for Civil Liberties,
headed by Alexandra
Matvić.
They won the Nobel Peace Prize together three years ago
. I assume most of you,
especially the
Ukrainian woman here in the square, know
Alexandra Matvić and her
human rights organization, the Center for Civil
Liberties. And we have an event
where we say, "People are the
key." People are symbolically the
key to the solution. People are
the key, and we all have a
key, which you should all please
take out. Do you all have a
car key, any kind of
key?
I don't see that many. Everyone
take out their key, please. I
want to hear lots and lots of keys. There's
a group of people who do
n't have a key. They are the
prisoners of the Russians. They are our
defenders. Unfortunately, they don't have a
key.
Russia has abducted thousands of people
. The official figures are
over 12,000 abducted
Ukrainian children.
More than 7,000
Ukrainian soldiers are being held
captive somewhere. We're not getting any data from
Russia about this, and thousands of
civilians in the temporarily
occupied territories have been abducted by the Russians
. Please take out
your key and make a
sign.
And don't stop. I want to
hear that louder. Everyone with a key.
[music]
This action is taking place worldwide in many
countries as a sign for our
prisoners whom Russia
has illegally abducted. People first. Thank you
from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much. Please
welcome our next guest.
Applause, please

Molina, thank
you very much.
And I would like to
give the floor to our wonderful Barbara Stefan.
Hello on this beautiful afternoon in the
heart of Munich. Dear
Ukrainians, dear
friends of Ukraine, dear
politicians, dear
artists, while we
may be
thinking about our next summer vacation,
the Russian attacks
on the battered The attacks on Ukraine are
constantly increasing, becoming ever more cruel and
brutal, and are primarily targeting more and
more residential buildings, cities,
hospitals, kindergartens, and the
Ukrainian civilian population, which
has already suffered so immensely. It's clear that
Putin is serious about this
attack, that it's not just against Ukraine,
but also against us, that the Ukrainian
soldiers
are our defenders, our champions. This is evident in the increasing resurgence of
Stalinism in Russia under Putin
. Gulak camps
are being reopened, prisoners of war
are being tortured, regime critics are being
abducted, and many who dare
to criticize Putin and his war
are facing
increasing persecution abroad.
While the attacks on Ukraine are escalating with
military force and violence,
cyberattacks on our infrastructure are also on the rise.
Putin's seriousness, and his intention to target
culture—the
culture, identity,
people, art, and literature of
Ukraine—is evident in the fact that
even cultural monuments, including a World Heritage Site
like the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Monastery of the Caves), are being destroyed. The
11th century, which is part of
Ukraine's founding myth. When our
villages were still relatively uncivilized
, we had a
high culture, and with this
11th-century monastery, we had something
special, with particularly beautiful
churches—one of the most beautiful and largest
Orthodox monastery complexes in the
world, a World Heritage Site. This too
was hit, and several churches were severely
damaged. We see
Stalinism is making a comeback. Even
under Stalin, the aim wasn't just to
physically exterminate and
starve Ukraine. No, it was always also directed
against art,
culture, literature, and
music. This was already evident in the
1930s during Stalin's terror, but also again
in the 1960s with the
annihilation of the Disents in the
basic materials era.
This war, however, is against all of us. This
war is also against our Western
values. It's also about our
democracy. It's about the fact that
all democracies in Eastern and
Western Europe are in Putin's sights, and
that we must finally strive to
wake up, that we must finally allow
Ukraine to awaken us. We
in Europe must stand together and
make joint efforts. We must better protect our
infrastructure, but also our values, our
culture, and the free life we
are accustomed to. We can
learn from Ukraine, but also
from the Poles, the Baltic states, the
Finns, and the Swedes. We
need joint
armament efforts and common
protection. We see what Ukraine
can achieve when it is equipped
or when it
can produce enough weapons itself. The
drone attacks reach far into
Russian territory, and they
frighten Putin. They are a kind of
deterrent that also protects us.
We must not only equip Ukraine but also
ourselves with a better
European
armament concept, with joint
defensive and offensive weapons, but above all
with better air defense, with
protection of the airspace for
Ukraine and for ourselves. Let us
work together on this, even during the
summer break, so that we don't just
think about vacations but also about our
shared protection. What
we have to protect here for our children and grandchildren is precious
. Ukraine shows
us how precious it is and how
difficult it can be to
protect it. Slava Ukraine.
Thank you very much. Thank you thank
you.

People are the key. Yesterday
I had the great honor of
meeting in person with our Nobel Peace Prize laureate, the Ukrainian Alexandra Matvichuk. She sends you her warmest greetings
and I am also to tell you that she
is grateful for everyone who
stands up for Ukraine, for everyone who
comes to such rallies, and
especially for everyone who

from Nobel Peace Prize laureate

Slava Ukraine.

Thank you Germany. Don't forget that Ukraine will come to you
May be today there is a reason
and a difference in the meaning of the word for the word
украине

Why are we here today? The war
continues. Some people are on
vacation, but war doesn't take a
vacation. The war that Russia is waging
is a terror against Mytter,
against children, against the sick, against
hospitals,
against rescue vehicles.
We in Europe must
decisively say "Stop, this is going too
far" to this war, and we are doing so in part. That's why
I thanked Germany. Ukraine has
received more support in recent years than ever before.
That's why Russian war logistics have been
effectively and sustainably destroyed. That's
why gas pipelines in Russia are being burned
, so that Russia no longer
has the funds for the war.
It's still not enough. We
must continue to work together with you
. We must continue to
communicate with our politicians. Our
European security is now being
defended in Europe.
Our European innovation,
technology, and finances
belong in Ukraine, so that they can protect us,
our children, and our future
.
I love that both flags are allowed to
fly.
On this poster
designed for us yesterday, we see
singing children. Ukrainian culture
lives and thrives under attacks from
Russian rockets, Russian
guided weapons, and Russian
drones.
We must do everything we can to preserve this
culture, these children, for the future
, so that they have a future
.
We must also talk about the fact that
Russia has been operating open-air nuclear weapons on the left bank of the
Herto River
since February
2026.
I repeat. Imagine a ghetto
on the European continent in
2026.
Entire villages are
cut off from supplies.
Entire villages have no medical
care.
We can ask, why aren't they being
evacuated?
Unfortunately, Russia has systematically
destroyed all vehicles there with drones. The
left bank of the Hona River has been occupied by Russia
for years.
The people who used to try
to escape on foot ca
n't anymore because Russia keeps
mining the roads and paths. They
mine the roads with drones.
People are injured. They're
left on the road and they die
in this heat. They die on the Hona in
this heat because Russia is operating an
open-air GTO (Ground Threat Organization) on the left bank of the
Hona.
We've been seeing Russian terror in person since May 2024.
Drones hunt people,
drones hunt vehicles, buses. We
need to talk about this. We need to
talk about the Hona. We need to say
stop, stop the safari. It's about us.
Stop the safari. Stop the safari. Stop the Hona.
Stop the
safari.
It started in... We see it today in
Nikopol, we see it in Odessa, we
see... In Gramatoors, in the Hark, in the
summer,
Russians are again hunting civilians
with drones, with small PW drones, which are connected to the
Fers for Europe network
.
We must do everything so that our
innovative technology helps Ukraine
with drones, with a strategy to
prevent Russia from carrying out this terror.
We are doing this, we are doing this Fers for
Europe. Let's ensure the protection of the
civilian population.
Privately, as everyone here knows,
trying to protect people
is good, important, and we thank everyone
who helps us with this.
But we here also know that this is only
possible because the Ukrainian armed forces,
with the help of ammunition, with the help of
European production, especially from
Germany,
are the effective force that
can also clear the left approach from Her. The
Ukrainian armed forces, with
European finances, technologies, and
production lines,
are capable of ending the Russian war,
and we, every single one of
us, are doing something to make that happen. Here among us are
people who constantly
collect these [funds/information].
Here among us are people who
speak with someone on the front line every day. Here among us is also
someone who defended Ukraine, who is
injured, but still here with us
. This is from the left bank of
Hasson. That's why once again Slava Soola

I would like to say a few words to
Munich society and also
to our wonderful National Theatre,
which I greatly appreciate
and enjoy visiting again and again.
Unfortunately, a
performance with the participation of the
Russian Soprano Anna Nrepko was
scheduled to perform.
Um, this is a person who never
truly distanced herself from Russia and this war
. This short,
vague letter, which she had
her lawyer draft in early 1922
, was the only thing anyone heard from her on the matter
.
She never distanced herself from the fact that
she had accepted medals from Turkey,
that she had worked with the
terrorist organization
DNR, that she was happy to be photographed wearing a
T-shirt with the
slogan "To Berlin," implying that we
can conquer Berlin again as Russians.
That's not it. I hope that we in
Munich society aren't so spoiled by affluence as to
welcome this kind of art here,
regardless of whether it hits home
or not. Thank you.
We are not only familiar with the wonderful
cardboard signs that make a clear
democratic statement about events
and are sometimes made directly on site, but
also with
us today. We are familiar with the wonderful Ukrainian culture
through Angelika's singing
. I hope so again today or
soon.
The wonderful Ukrainian culture is present
today at the Front lines, because she has to
defend her home. The wonderful
Ukrainian culture is often lost in the prison
called Russia, as
children are often held captive in war crime-like captivity as prisoners of war. That's why let's talk about Ukrainian artists. Let's honor them. Let's help a people survive. And I am very sure that the wonderful European culture will only be richer. The sooner
Ukrainians can live in freedom, in peace, in
safety, in peace on Ukrainian
terms. Slava Ukraine,
Slava. Slaver Munich. Slaver Munich. But
Ukrainian culture also includes co-
financing our own defense.
And we do that with our donations,
we do that with our appeals,
we also do that with the small
auctions.
And today we have these two very
Ukrainian items. One something for
the spirit in the sense of fire spirit and
one for the spirit in the sense of
beauty. Let's start with the fire spirit
. Who is interested in Javeline
Ukrainian Freedom Horiuka Original? I
believe it has
500 ml
and 40%
strength. We'll start the first bid
at 30 €
30, my mom, I really have to
admit.
30
smak
bazhayachi,
a strong drink. I hope it gives you
strength.
Taste of Ukraine, Freedom. Folks,
I'm telling you, enjoy it on ice, even
if Ukrainian hearts are hot,
this must be enjoyed cold.
Yes.
€40 going once,
€40 going twice, €
50, €
50,
this will be a nice weekend.
So, €50 going once, €
50 going once,
€60, Markus,
€60 going once for...
Do you want to know where this is going?
I'll tell you, Northern Crimea.
You know what I mean, right? In
Ukraine,
in the north of our beautiful
Crimean peninsula, which will soon be free again, so
that we can once again drink wonderful
coffee in the wonderful cafeterias of the
Crimeans.
Surprises will be financed with this. So,
€60 going once
for the Grimparty. €60 for the Grimparty
. For the second time,
€70! €70, that's enough to celebrate! €70
for the first time,
€70 for the second,
€70 for the third, sold!
Great. Thank you so much. My mom will be
very, very, very happy.
And this is a doll from the
wonderful Viniens region, made by the
dedicated volunteers
who, in their precious
free time,
try to
create art. Let
's start at €30. €
30,
€30.
A beautiful doll.
You can also
take the doll off and play with it, if
you like. This doll was
donated to us
Munich residents by a legend, Jerus Schwarzkopf. Anyone
who sends a vehicle from Poland to the
front will recognize her, because
in Poland there's the "Give
Your Car to the Front" campaign, and she and
her Polish friends drive most of the vehicles at the front.
It's a Mutanka doll
from a legend.
So, €30 for the first time, €
45,
€45 from Colina. €
45, €
50, €
50 from
Julia.
€55 for
a beautiful decorative
doll.
You can remove it and
actually play with it or
display it nicely somewhere. It's a mood booster.
€70.
Wow,
€70 going once.
€70 going twice.
This doll will help finance an
evacuation vehicle
for the woman and the medical staff
. Just so you know,
this doll is a Motanka; she's responsible for the
good spirits in the house. So,
the good spirit goes to
Jüle going three times.
Julia, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Wirra and
Valeni.
Great.
Who can?
Who can speak porn?
Who can speak Polish?
Polish volunteers gave us this
. Why? Because they know
which technology
Europe will use to
successfully defend itself. With
drone technology,
we will defeat Russian terror.
It's labeled in Polish. I
can speak a little Polish, but there's
a word I don't know.
So, we need technical assistance.
It says, in case anyone understands, "
narodu."
I think that's the active one. Thank you.
Um, a beautiful picture.
Um,
how about With a city bid of €40?
€50 going once, Alex. €
50 going once. Украины
слава Украине для муж народу украинского
поляки минск мазовецки
2025 Yes,
so €50 going once.
Who's asking me
€50 going
twice? €
60 €60
€60
Markus gives €60.
So €60 going once. €75 €
75 You want the picture? I see it.
€75 going once,
€75 going twice,
€75 going three times, sold.
The wonderful artwork, the
inimitable example,
porn-rainic,
timid collaboration for our and
your freedom goes to Alexi. I am
very proud of it. Thanks Alexi. So, the
nice money goes to Tara. Tamara
distributes it further.
