At the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, there is this online learning mode where you can fully control your learning process. That is, there are no fixed schedules or live classes, which allows you to access materials, videos and tasks at the right time and place that best adapts to your life rhythm.

It is right there where you will start using the Nexus platform, one of our official platforms at our university, and a tool that you will use constantly during your studies. There you will be able to observe the different activities that your teachers will request, but you will also work with a digital notebook that you will have to complete during the weeks of the propedeutics course.

First, you should know that our university has its own academic calendar, where important dates are set such as the beginnings and endings of the semester, as well as the administrative academic recesses that correspond to the semester.

Through this calendar, each preparatory program the internal academic activities where, in a timely manner, you will be able to know the evaluation periods, the delivery of your evidence and other relevant events of your interest. For this reason, one of the most important recommendations is that you have available this calendar to maintain an adequate organization of your time.

In your first semester, you will study different learning units or subjects, in which their contents are divided into four stages with specific purposes, learning activities and evidence that will allow you to demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired.

Each stage has a duration of four weeks, so you will be immersed in 16 weeks of classes, adding the weeks of the exams. This calendar facilitates the follow-up of your progress and helps you identify areas of improvement before the end of the semester. The key to success will be to maintain a constant work from the first day. And how is it going to work? Maestra Malú has the answer.

During your training, you will study the subjects of the different disciplinary fields such as communication, experimental sciences, mathematics, digital culture, social sciences and humanities. All of them share the same purpose: to contribute to the development of your competencies so that they are useful in your academic, professional and personal career.

In the first semester you will have a total of nine basic subjects for your training. Here I share with you. The first is oral and written expression, algebraic thought development, digital culture 1, socio-emotional education and peace culture, physical activity and personal development, introduction to the methodology of scientific research, the subject of its ethical transformations and also we cannot fail to mention

the learning units that are English and French, which are part of the communication discipline area, and also the training units for the work that belongs to the technical bachelor's degree.

During the semester you will develop activities and projects that will be part of your portfolio of evidence. This portfolio is an organized collection of all the individual or collaborative works that allow you to visualize your progress, effort and academic growth throughout the semester. Your teachers will guide you step by step through constant feedback from each of the activities carried out by you as a high school student.

Within the most important school activities to deliver will be the evidence of each stage and the learning integrator product also known as PIA. Through this product you will put into practice the knowledge and skills developed in one or several subjects to analyze situations, solve problems or propose alternatives related to the contents studied throughout the semester.

Part of these PIAs will be the cross-referential projects that link the learnings of different areas of knowledge, allowing you to understand the topics from a broader and more comprehensive perspective. Also, like the propedeutics course during the regular semester, you will continue to work with the digital notebook where you will find activities, exercises, complementary resources and support materials to reinforce all the contents seen

in the class of development of algebraic thinking, oral and written expression, introduction to the methodology of scientific research. Now, Master Raúl, why don't you tell us a little bit about the important aspects to consider during the first semester?

Of course, a frequent question from students is about the exams. During the semester, you will participate in different evaluation processes that will allow you to know your academic progress and strengthen your learning. The higher-level study system management works out and coordinates the application of two intrusional evaluations: indicative and global exams, which allow you to verify the achievement of the established learnings in the study programs of all the university preparatories.

The first process corresponds to the Indicative Exam, which evaluates the contents and competencies developed in the stages 1 and 2 of each learning unit. This exam will be applied from September 21 to October 2. Later, you will present the Partial Exam, an instrument developed by your preparatory, through which the knowledge corresponding to stage 3 is evaluated. This exam will be applied from October 19 to October 30.

Finally, at the end of the semester, you will present the Global Exam, also developed by ADC, which integrates and evaluates the learnings developed throughout the course. This evaluation evaluates your understanding, analysis and use of the information acquired throughout the four stages and will be applied during the official period of final exams scheduled from November 23 to December 4.

And also, the rest of your teachers will be advising you along the way. Be very attentive to their instructions, just like those of your preparatory.
