  • Hello guys, how's it going? My name is Dal and WoW's next expansion of Midnight is actually drawing our so soon with the pre- patch right around the corner, which means that right now, if you're still somebody who's trying to figure out which class you're going to main, it's probably a struggle, especially with the amount of changes they're

  • coming out for all these different play styles. For some players are just looking for a play style that just fits them. whether they're looking for a very specific fast action or a more methodical gameplay, maybe some class fantasy or just because they like the transmogs out of that class. And there's a good chance that you're playing

  • paladin for that reason specifically. Other players are just looking to try something new. You were caster last expansion, now it's time to be melee. You healed last time, now you want to play a tank. So, you're just looking for a bit of variety. But there's also a lot of players that are just looking for a safe pick for the next expansion. you

  • know, the players that are more goal oriented, somebody who wants to be constantly competitive at endgame, no matter the season, no matter which expansion you're going into, a class that will always get an invite to the group, so you don't have to be sitting in LFG for hours just trying to get some mythic plus done. You're looking for

  • that safe option that will always be hopefully a meta pick that will be wanted and invited to groups anywhere you go. So, I kind of wanted to go over some of the classes that I think actually fit that category of a possible potential save option that you could main if you're just trying to stay super

  • competitive heading into the very first season of Midnight. And I'm also going to give you more reasonings as to why I think these classes fit the list super easily. As always, if you guys want to see more regular updates as we're getting closer to the release of Midnight, be sure to follow the channel and subscribe. But otherwise, let's dive

  • right in. Now, let's start off with what I think will be one of the easiest classes to add on here, and that is going to be the demon hunter. Because they're getting a whole new spec to add to their playlist. Like, the fact that they're getting a whole new way to experience this class

  • is pretty special because they finally are letting the range demon hunter play style exist, and it's void theme, which is really awesome. I love the visuals for this. The play style is also pretty simple. But when a Blizzard adds a brand new shiny spec to the game, obviously, they're going to invest as much time as they can to make sure the players are

  • actually playing it. It's one of the biggest selling features of Midnight in general. Last time they added a whole new spec to the game was when augmentation was added to the class of the evoker. This new buff based play style that changed up the way that DPS classes play all together. Instead of doing damage, you're buffing everybody

  • else so they could do more damage. And when it came out, it was insanely good for a very, very long time. And Blizzard has repeated this trend of them releasing a shiny new class or a spec. And it's usually kind of in locked in to be really really good for the time that it's released. Just ask every single OG

  • Wrath of the Lich King player about how they feel about the early death knights and everybody will tell you players that played in Wrath, not classic Wrath, but the original release, everybody will tell you exactly just how strong death knights were. And demon hunter as a class outside of just devour, outside of

  • the havoc and vengeance brings pretty good utility, which makes them pretty good generally. from a mandatory buff that needs to be brought into raids to a great kit of crowd control that also works in raids but even better in dungeon situations. On top of it, the tank spec of vengeance is also been

  • pretty popular pick for mythic plus on midnight beta so far with havoc even getting a decent bit of play as well, which I think as long as like the tuning doesn't completely screw over this class, I think demon hunter is really good momentum handing into the next expansion for these reasons specifically. But I really do think that

  • devour being a shiny new spec, I think it's probably going to carry its popularity going forward. Another class that's surprisingly good so far in Midnight that I think may actually be a pretty good pick is Evoker. I know this isn't Dragonflight, so this isn't like their expansion

  • specifically, but this class has gotten some of the best streamlining that I've seen so far. Like surprisingly good. And just how popular they are right now in Midnight. I feel like a lot of players will not pay attention to them and then straight up flying under the radar. One of the biggest class changes that this play style has received is the fact that

  • the ability of hover, which is how you do your movement while casting. Previously, it was an ability you couldn't really use while you're casting a spell. You took a separate global. So, you had to stop what you're doing, then use hover, and then you could proceed back to casting your spells. But, they've actually changed it. So, now you

  • can cast hover anytime you want to mid a spellcast. So you can just be like middle of a rotation and if you need to move immediately, you can just press the ability while you're on the move without having to or while you're midcast without having to interrupt anything. This alone changes the rigidity of

  • augmentation, devastation, and preservation in such a massive way and makes the spec feel a lot less clunky. Like it's a very small change, but has a huge impact in players enjoying the play style in particular. All the specs of evoker also get crazy amount of streamlining from preservation healer,

  • devastation damage dealer, and the augmentation buff class. Devastation in particular is a lot easier to play. It never really had a lot of buttons previously, but it was all about how you use those abilities and the order in which you use them, and that was the complexity and like actual skill cap of devastation. You still have all the fun

  • elements like being able to extend your dragon rage window nearly infinitely, not quite infinitely, but pretty long. And there's a whole AI apex talent that makes that window super super satisfying to play into. But they've also streamlined in such a way where the spec actually has incredible damage. Whether you're looking for cleave damage as

  • commander scale commander play style or huge priority bursty single target output in AoE as flame shaper and it feels so satisfying to play. Augmentation also seen a lot of play over in the mythic plus so far. It seems to be a very strong spec with that been

  • rewarded so it's sort of buffing like a full you know handful of allies within a raid. It just buffs the entire raid instead. And of course, it's been tuned in order to make sure that that doesn't get too out of control, but it's a lot better at buffing everybody in raid. It's still really good at mythic plus. It has fantastic utility. Still has some

  • unique defensive components like a cheap death mechanic, which makes them fairly reliable, but they're just a great pickup to add in a dungeon comp. And overall, together in particular, the two DPS packs of Aoker have been very popular on the midnight beta. And there's a pretty good chance that

  • popularity is likely going to continue onwards into Midnight. Another class that I think deserves to be on the list is mage. Mages historically from expansion to expansion, patch after patch, season after season, have generally been fairly

  • competitive. They definitely, I think, have been some of the most consistent class, you know, as expansions went on. I don't really remember a lot of times where mages were really ever like a complete low point of their time, like complete bottom of the barrel as a whole class with all three specs being nearly

  • useless. A lot of other classes have a very specific moment like a season or a patch where they were just like not tuned well whatsoever. Every class is a low point you can think of specifically like I remember early version of rogues and missar in PvP in particular was pretty abysmal until they fixed them up

  • real quick. But every class usually has that moment. But I don't think mages have had that many moments in comparison. So it potentially could make him very very consistent. But the specs themselves and the performance right now on Midnight Frost has been absolutely incredible. The changes I've done for that spec in particular has made them

  • super good. And I feel like they're very bury, fairly easy to play, incredible control like they usually have, but also nearly no cooldowns to manage, which I think fits them incredibly well. Arcane has been receiving love with buffs after buffs over the last few weeks and it looks like it's finally shaping up into

  • a fairly competitive play style. Of course, fire and I've seen them play quite a decent bit, but I don't see them played nearly as much as Frost and Arcane. So, there may be an issue of tuning, but they don't seem to be like completely terrible either. They seem to be some moments where they also shine as well. On top of it, the mage utility is

  • generally very good. They have great survivability, good control, they help you out with buffs and even debuffs. And of course, there's time warp. So, they're generally a pretty good pickup for raid groups, but also dungeon groups. And that consistency we've seen over the past few expansions is why I think they will likely be a fairly solid

  • choice heading into Midnight Season 1. Another class that I think is a pretty easy pickup is a druid because they have literally some of the best fiveman utility in dungeon content completely from Mark of the Wild, which is a versatility buff providing offense but

  • also defensive value. Stamping roar for easy group movement speed. Soothe which is the best D and enrage ability in the game. Remove corruption for cure poisons and you know curse removal which is also really good. Incap Roar for immediate AoE uh interruption. Typhoon for group

  • knockback. Mass entangle and vortex in order to limit enemy movement. I mean they bring a lot to the team all at once. No matter whether you're playing Guardian, Resto, Boomkin, Feral, and I guess if you were to add Boomkin, technically they do have a solar beam for an AoE silence, but the lose out of

  • kick though. That one is kind of like it all depends on the group composition you're running, but it's still good in some situations for sure. Now, Resto by itself, like individually specwise, Resto has actually been really really popular and a very very good healer. It's gotten so much easier to play. Like if you're somebody who doesn't really

  • play healer that much, I think Resto is looking like a very very solid option to get into. Even though it's like healing over time, which you think is a setup heavy healer, it really is not that setup heavy. They've really and made it feel very reliable. And I think it's a fantastic one to pick up off the bat. Balance and Feral, we could talk about

  • their tuning all day, but generally boomkins usually are really, really good for great AoE and spread damage. Like when enemies are super far apart, they end up being one of the best classes. So really has a good niche for that specifically. and they'll generally I think if tuned correctly will probably be pretty good heading into the season.

  • Feral also I haven't seen them that much. I think they're kind of lacking in tuning but generally they've been pretty good when it comes to boss damage like over the last few expansions and if they're tuned correctly I think they're probably going to be pretty good as well as a melee. Uh guardian druid is another one that actually seen a lot of play

  • over the past few expansions. Generally a decent tank for mythic plus quantum. It's seen quite a decent set of new talents over in Midnight. Uh, and it generally is one of those things that has had success with melee themed comps in Mythic Plus dungeons in particular, which has actually like that's something

  • that we've seen a lot more recently. So, if melee comps are still a thing, guardian drew will likely have a pretty good solid spot in order to find a group for that content as well. But also, statistically, the reason why I put driven list because this is the only class with four playable spec options.

  • statistically at least one of them is probably going to be very very good if you're trying to be just purely competitive when it comes to endgame. So I think that's why it's another reason why the probably going to be a pretty good option going forward. Probably makes them super super safe at all.

  • Finally, the last class I think is probably a safe pick is that of a shaman. Very similar to druids, they're bringing some great group utility through totems. And while shamans did see a bit of pruning when it comes to talents like a lot of other classes, they still keep a huge bulk of totems that end up making them really really

  • good for you to pick up in general. From the poison cleansing totem, which is fantastic for that group dispel, the tremor totem, which is still super valuable for AoE fears. You have earth grabb for example for that rooting effect. You have wind rush totem and when combined together with things like

  • jetream, it also removes all slowing effects. So that could be really nice to get allies out of like a slowing effect. They can even dispel that can even remove like certain enemy debuffs that come with like a dot and a slow. Removing the slow sometimes removes the dot altogether. So that can be pretty broken in some cases. You have the stun

  • totem with capacitor as well. So you have a variety of different totems that bring that additional group utility. But also you have the actual raid buff that is the sky fury which is really good with a variety of different classes. It is summon that grants mastery where classes that use mastery, that's a

  • pretty good increase. But also for any auto attack melee classes, that's also a chance for you to swing extra auto attacks in which can generate more damage or possibly generate more procs. And it's just really good. It's a universally good buff that casters and melee utilize and something that made some of those melee comps like we talked

  • about with druid for dungeon content also very good. It's a unique buff and I think that's something that does give them an edge over other options. This class, however, out of all the other ones, I think, is going to be probably the one most affected by tuning. A lot of other classes on this list are, I think, are pretty decent. Even if

  • they're not like the highest tuned, they still bring quite a bit of that mandatory group utility where you'll likely get a lot of invites. Shaman, I think it will be affected by tuning more than anything. That being said, I have se been seeing quite a decent play from enhancement, elemental, and restoration. So, it doesn't look like they're doing

  • bad right now. And hopefully they don't receive like really unfavorable nerfs going forward. That being said, if I did have to name one spec that I feel the most confident about, I would say restoration actually would be the one. This one felt really good to pick up at least mythic plus dungeons. It feel like it has great single target healing that

  • feels really good and works really well in fiveman content. I like the changes they did to things like ascendance. Even though the choice of ascendance for the healing titum felt odd, I like the play style of ascendance where you could just cycle in between instant cast heals and just do a lot of output, that feels

  • really good and satisfying. That being said, I do hope they probably take a second look at this spec specifically when it comes to their raid healing kit cuz I feel like those abilities are just not not really where they need to be and could probably use a little bit more love going forward. With that being said, as always, I do

  • want to thank all of you guys so much for watching and I hope you guys did enjoy this video. I also would like to see in the comments what classes do you personally think would actually make your safest picks going forward. Like classes that you think are always going to be a shoe win when it comes to just staying competitive when it comes to endgame. Also, be sure to join our disc

  • community just to keep up with all the new midnight changes. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. And as always, I'll see all of you guys in the next one.
